Extractions: Cervical Cancer Types of HPV What You Can Do ... hagaelcompromiso Did you ever wonder about the most common types of cancer worldwide that women get? Cervical cancer is caused by certain types of human papillomavirus, or (HPV). For most women, the virus will go away on its own. But for some, it can lead to cervical cancer. Most often this can take a number of years, but that may vary. In the United States, Pap screening programs have greatly reduced deaths from cervical cancer. Still, it is estimated that about 10,000 American women will be diagnosed this year. Many women do not realize that the infection that might lead to cervical cancer is called the human papillomavirus (HPV). While half of all women who develop cervical cancer are between 35 and 55 years old, many of these women were probably exposed to cancer-causing HPV types in their late teens or early 20s. The good news is that you have the power to reduce your chance of getting cervical cancer. By getting routine Pap screening tests, you can help prevent this devastating disease. Cervical Cancer Cervical Cancer What is Cancer Anyway? Causes and Risks Symptoms. Cancer is a group of more than 100 different diseases. They all affect the body s basic http://www.coolnurse.com/cervical_cancer.htm
Extractions: Symptoms Cancer is a group of more than 100 different diseases. They all affect the body's basic unit, the cell. Cancer occurs when cells become abnormal and divide without control. All of the organs of the body are made up of many types of cells. Normally, cells divide to produce more cells only when the body needs them. This orderly process helps keep us healthy. If cells keep dividing when new cells are not needed, a mass of tissue forms. This mass of extra tissue, called a growth or tumor, can be benign or malignant. Benign tumors are not cancerous. They can usually be removed and, in most cases, they do not come back. The most important thing is that cells from benign tumors do not spread to other parts of the body. Benign tumors are not a threat to life. Polyps, cysts, and genital warts are types of benign growths of the cervix.
