I mean, that famed Marine Lewis "Chesty" Puller had some magnificent quotes: "All right, they're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us...they can't get away this time."

Tim Couch (http://packers.com/team/players/couch_tim/) still has a lot to learn about the West Coast offense.
Fourth-string quarterback Seneca Wallace led Seattle on two touchdown drives and the Seahawks took advantage of Couch's dismal debut for Green Bay in a 21-3 exhibition victory over the Packers.
Couch, expected to be an upgrade over veteran Doug Pederson (http://packers.com/team/players/pederson_doug/) as Brett Favre (http://packers.com/team/players/favre_brett/)'s primary backup, finished 2-of-11 for 18 yards, a 1.6-yard average, and was sacked twice.
"He didn't play very well, that's obvious," Packers coach Mike Sherman (http://packers.com/team/coaches/sherman_mike/) said. "Part of it is he didn't practice a whole lot this week. He said his arm felt well enough to go, so I put him in there. I question whether that was the right decision. It wasn't a good day for him or for us."
Couch, a former No. 1 draft pick who served as Cleveland's starter most of the last five years, wasn't released by the Browns in time to get a jump-start on Green Bay's intricate offense in the June minicamp.

BOULWARE RELEASED
The Baltimore Ravens have terminated the contract of LB Peter Boulware, it was announced today by Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome.
“Due to the play of Adalius Thomas and the drafting of Dan Cody, we decided to terminate Peter Boulware,” said Newsome. “Peter has been a major contributor to the success of our organization both on and off the field. As others who have departed this year, whether it has been by termination or free agency, we feel that Peter will continue to be a successful player in this league.”
A nine-year NFL veteran, Boulware is the franchise’s leading sacker, with 67.5 career sacks. In his time with the Ravens, Boulware was named to four Pro Bowls (1998, 1999, 2002 and 2003) and totaled 487 career tackles, 18 PD, 12 FFs, 5 FRs and 1 INT.
Boulware saw action in 111 games with Baltimore, starting 102. He led the AFC and was second in the NFL with a career-high 15 sacks in 2001, when he switched from LB to DE for the final six games of the season. Boulware also earned the Ed Block Courage Award following the 1999 season, when he played with a shoulder harness to support his dislocated shoulder, and still managed 10 sacks. Boulware was named Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1997 after posting 11.5 sacks. 05-11-2005, 05:16 PM

Once-top pick Tim Couch returns to NFL

Courtesy Phil Coale, AP Ah, how the mighty have fallen. In 1999, Kentucky quarterback Tim Couch was the first player taken in the draft. Couch was the then-expansion Cleveland Browns Insert irritating squelch noise here. Prior to his injury, Couch was slightly above awful in five seasons with the Browns. Now, the former top pick is back in the NFL, as a third string backup in Jacksonville. What an amazing, if circuitous, ride Couch has had. From glory boy at Kentucky, to media darling in the NFL, to crying on national TV, to being released, to spending three full seasons away from the game to signing for the veteran league minimum to play backup to the backup. I never liked Couch much as a quarterback, but I do have some pity for him.
