Pages : rickyjones 06-04-2007, 12:03 AM If I remember correctly the saints attempted to sign both Brett Farve and Deion Sanders (at different times) to contracts. I think Favre signed an offer sheet as a resticted Free agent and the Packers matched. Deion's Saints contract would have been to play football only but at the time he was also playing baseball. Does anyone else remember this? I Could have sworn this was in the early 90's. Stonewall or anyone else -does this sound familiar? LanceM 06-04-2007, 12:11 AM I think we were talking to deion about coming here, but he went to san fran. 06-04-2007, 12:12 AM I dont remember anything about Favre, but I do remember talking to my cousins about us going after Sanders. I thought about this the other day and just thought it was a rumor started by someone at school. I was pretty young back then, so I would have believed just about anything back then. I thought him not coming to N.O. had to do with him wanting a ring? 06-04-2007, 12:16 AM

I liked that he quoted Marty - "He's Montana-like." BoltsAFCWest#1 12-05-2005, 09:23 AM Drew Brees didn't have the most exciting game against the Faiders. What do you guys think of that and the national exposure?
Not the most exciting game, but a workmanlike, methodical, respectable WIN. Drew looked very good in my opinion and his no-huddle work was excellent. I've always thought Drew is Montana-like, in that he is very tenacious and puts the team in a position to win in the 4th quarter even when coming from behind. There have been many games we should have won but passes were dropped or field goals blown. Brees put us in a position to win but the cards didn't fall that way. I am confident that time will tell and Drew will get the recognition not as a "top five" quarterback, but one of the elites in the NFL.

Brett Farve Day Nov. 29, 2004
Here is one issue on which I actually find agreement with Wisconsin's liberal Governor: Governor Jim Doyle proclaims Monday as "Brett Favre" Day in Wisconsin in honor of the quarterback’s 200th consecutive start in a NFL game on Monday against the Saint Louis Rams at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. This is a league record for NFL quarterbacks. [ more , hat tip: The American Mind Brett Favre's Stats - He is the NFL's only three-time MVP (1995-97) and ranks in the NFL's top five in four major passing categories: second in touchdowns (346), fourth in completions (3,960), fifth in attempts (6,464), fifth in yards (45,646). Brett Favre on ESPN: click here I was surprised, pleased, and pretty embarrassed to hear that an article in the magazine's March 2004 issue named me "The Toughest Guy in America." At first I thought it was a joke, or a mistake, and that there was nothing to it Favre's on NFL.com Packers Beat Vikings to Clinch NFC North Brett Favre bounced back from one of his familiar costly mistakes and rallied the Green Bay Packers to another big victory — and another division title. Favre drove his team 76 yards to set up Ryan Longwell's 29-yard field goal as time ran out, lifting the Packers to a 34-31 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Friday that clinched a third straight NFC North crown for Green Bay.
