Awards USBWA College Player of the Year Hall of Fame Peter Press Maravich June 22 January 5 ) was an American basketball player known for his dazzling ballhandling , incredible shooting abilities, and creative passing . He learned at a very young age fundamental basketball and ball handling drills from his father coach Press Maravich . He would follow his father and coach throughout the eastern and gulf seaboards as a young man before exploding onto the NBA in his own right. Also known as "Pistol Pete" , he starred in college at Louisiana State University and for three NBA teams. Maravich is still the all-time leading NCAA scorer, averaging a staggering 44.2 points per game, without the benefit of a three-point line and excluding the records of his freshman year due to the fact that when Pete was in his first year of college, the NCAA had separate freshman and varsity basketball teams and freshmen were not allowed to play on the varsity team.

I believe the Red Sox will make every effort to sign this guy as they see "helping the ballclub". That being said, if a bidding war starts, it seems unlikely that the Sox will be able to offer more than the Yanks if GS decides he wants him, so the question I pose is this:
Who will sign P. Martinez after this season, and for how much/how long? Also, do the Yankees want Pedro on their team at all and if so, where does he fall in next year's rotation? Cheers! Red Sox Fan824 08-24-04, 01:42 PM Pedro is staying in Boston. For the rest of his career. efabian 08-24-04, 01:54 PM Originally posted by Red Sox Fan824

Sherdog Mixed Martial Arts Forums General Discussion PDA View Full Version : Greatest/Most Complete Offensive Player in history of Basketball 02-20-2007, 12:57 AM Ok, we all know Jordan is a god. I give him that but one person who's always overlooked is Pistol Pete Maravich. Arguably the greatest offensive weapon the basketball world's ever seen. He wasn't much of a dunker but that's the only thing missing from his arsenal. He had a deadly shot from anywhere on the court, on hand shot, two hand shot, left or right, hook with either hand, lobs, floaters and everything in between. He's the most complete offensive player ever, even more so than MJ. He just lacked the D not to mention he's also the most creative and best passer in the history of the game.
