    This is the Robert Frost house found on the Plymouth State University grounds. They honor him because he lived in the house while he taught at Normal school duting the 1911-12 school year. odragon This poet memorial is located in Philadelphia, PA in the Ellen Phillips Samuel Memorial of 1957. It is located on Kelly Dr. near Girard Ave.

The very beginning of human life on the North American continent has been dated to 25-40 thousand years ago, when the first Mongoloid tribes, ancestors of the indigenous Native Americans, first crossed the Pacific Ocean at the Bering Strait. Tribesmen arrived in various waves, settling throughout the continent, establishing a series of unique cultures, and inhabiting the land when Europeans landed. Western historiography has regarded the year 1492, when Columbus discovered America, as a turning point. We know, however, that some Nordic visitors landed and settled in North America long before Columbus reached it. He is rather credited with discovering this land as a place for the potential fulfillment of expansionist desires among the leading European nations. This accounts for an increased interest in the New World as signified by a series of voyages to explore the land and map its potential, which would soon be organized in Spain, England, Portugal, and France.
