Adrian has been involved in health informatics since joining the UK National Health Service in 1981 as Director of Computing at St Thomas Hospital, London and Kings Fund Fellow. In 1986, he joined the Centre for Information Technology, first on secondment then as Principal Consultant. This organisation became the NHS Information Management Centre and Adrian was promoted to Assistant Director, then to Director. His particular areas of responsibility included the NHS Information Standards Boards, "Requirements for Accreditation", "Standards Enforcement in Procurement" and, from 1995-98, managed the NHSs Y2K programme. He took early retirement in September 2000 to concentrate on consultancy work. | |
