How Do You Escape From Agoraphobia?
Agoraphobia Basics
Since many haven't heard of agoraphobia it often takes people with the condition awhile to get agoraphobia treatment since they don't know what is wrong with them. In addition there is no specific agoraphobia test that can easily determine if an individual has the phobia. So what then is agoraphobia and how can you live with it? Agoraphobia is similar to anxiety disorders in the sense that people with the condition typically have a fear of open or public spaces. Those with agoraphobia many not be able to go outside of the house while there are some who can go outside but only with a trusted companion. This fear typically comes from individuals being afraid that they will have a panic attack in a public place and having no one around to help in an emergency. So does this mean that agoraphobia happens with panic disorders?
Agoraphobia and Panic Disorders
Typically agoraphobia is a condition that develops when individuals are fearful of what happens should a panic attack occur as a result of a panic disorder. Those who have agoraphobia typically have an underlying panic disorder that makes them feel vulnerable when they go outside. They are worried that they will be at the mercy of strangers should they suffer an attack in a public area. Although agoraphobia has its own characteristics that are different from panic disorders. Consider the agoraphobia symptoms to determine if you or someone you know may be suffering from this condition.

This web site is for professionals wanting to develop or sharpen their skills in dealing with clients suffering from anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia and phobias. This technique is strictly educational in nature as anxiety and panic attacks are strictly a disease of ignorance! Now that's a pretty bold statement. And considering it comes from a chemical engineer instead of a psychiatrist or psychologist, it may seem even more far fetched.
I discovered this approach
Certainly the approach that I was using was different than anything I had seen in the literature for treatment of anxiety, panic attack or agoraphobia or any technique that I had ever found in books and cassette tapes being sold to clinicians and professional conferences. But did that make a difference in the percentages?
To learn the truth, I did what few clinicians do I created a survey and mailed it to everyone that I had seen or worked with over a six-year period who had suffered from phobias, anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, or associative depression. When I tabulated

These tendencies seem to be hard-wired and seem to have a developmental purpose. Infants commonly show a fearful response to loud noise or the sudden loss of physical support. Reluctance to be separated from one's caregiver is a normal, healthy response in young children and indicated the development of healthy attachment. When a child starts to walk on its own, fear of strange animals is an adaptive response. Performance anxiety can appear in late childhood and social phobia in adolescence.

What is agoraphobia?
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder. If you have agoraphobia, you avoid going places or doing things because you are afraid you will have no way to escape or will panic and have no help. For example, you might have an intense fear of driving, crossing bridges, or being in shopping malls. You fear the reactions, called panic attacks, that you might have in these situations. The fears can disable you. Fear can prevent you from leaving your home. A person who has agoraphobia may also have panic disorder.

Introduction “The End of Fear D ear fellow man, woman, teenager, Do you suffer from secret fears, phobias, or anxiety and have searched for their true explanation and permanent treatment that you so desperately need, but have never yet found? Do you experience panic attacks without warning or explanation as multitudes in the world do today? Then you could be a victim of Agoraphobia - that mysterious and terrifying disorder nobody seems to understand and from which victims rarely recover. This phobic condition is now incorrectly called ‘panic disorder’, an entirely new medical category that includes any phobia or nervous disorder with reoccurring panic attacks. However, what is now termed panic disorder is very often agoraphobia, a distinct and subtle phobia often confused with other phobias, disguising the true number of its victims. This error has come about because agoraphobia is still a mystery to medical science!
