Dyslexia is:
The ability to see multidimensionally, all at once, or from any one place at a time. The ability to think in pictures and to register those pictures as real. Thus, you mix in creative thinking with reality and change what you see and hear.
Running daydreams: A process of always rapidly creating in your mind, so you never hear what others really say, or you forget what they say. Therefore, you can't hear or see things around you accurately. Disorientation: The imagination starts running when something "triggers" you. You become spacey; you "drift" and make mistakes. It can be seen in your eyes and felt inside. Triggers can be written or spoken words, movement, confusion, sounds, people, exhaustion, sensitivities, emotions, hunger, fear, etc. Thus, dyslexia affects your life and the lives of those around you.
A talent to think 3-dimensionally, in pictures, like computer graphics:

It is an impairment in the brain's ability to translate images received from the eyes or ears into understandable language. Dyslexia does not result from vision or hearing problems. It is not due to mental retardation, brain damage, or a lack of intelligence. Dyslexia can go undetected in the early grades of schooling. The child can become frustrated by the difficulty in learning to read, and other problems can arise that disguise dyslexia. The child may show signs of depression and low self esteem. Behavior problems at home as well as at school are frequently seen. The child may become unmotivated and develop a dislike for school. The child's success in school may be jeopardized if dyslexia remains untreated. What causes Dyslexia?

Dyslexia
What is Dyslexia? When a person has difficulties with reading, writing, spelling and maybe even speaking, no matter how hard he or she tries, the problem could be a learning disability known as dyslexia. Dyslexia is a life-long language processing disorder that hinders the development of oral and written language skills. Children and adults with dyslexia can be highly intelligent, however they have a neurological disorder that causes the brain to process and interpret information differently. Since so much of what happens in a classroom is based on reading and writing, it's important to identify dyslexia as early as possible and devise strategies to help a child succeed academically. Also read Dyslexia: A Quick Look , a basic overview of learning disabilities in writing, including a break down of warning signs by age group.

http://www.dyslexia-add.org/
Since 1975, the goal of the Dyslexia Research Institute, Inc. has been to change the perception of learning differences, specifically in the area of dyslexia and attention deficit disorders (ADD). With proper recognition and intervention, dyslexics and individuals with ADD become successful individuals using their talents and skills to enrich our society. They may take their place alongside other dyslexics/ADDs, such as Woodrow Wilson, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, and Nelson Rockefeller. Ten to fifteen percent of the US population has dyslexia, yet only five out of every one hundred dyslexics are recognized and receive assistance. Approximately 60% of individuals diagnosed with attention deficit disorders are also dyslexic, however, their learning and language differences are often unrecognized because only the behavioral aspects of ADD are addressed. Without the proper diagnosis and help, many of these dyslexics and ADD individuals are only functionally literate, and are part of the forty-four million adults with only the lowest level of literacy. This limits their ability to find jobs and function independently within their communities. The Dyslexia Research Institute mission is to change these statistics by providing appropriate identification and training.

Dyslexia: What is it?
If you look up the word dyslexia in the dictionary, you’ll find that it is derived from the Greek word “dys” (meaning poor or inadequate) plus “lexis” (words or language). Perhaps you know someone with dyslexia. If so, you probably know one of the common problems they have is transposing letters or numbers. These problems can occur in listening, writing, reading, spelling or handwriting. In other words, dyslexic people process language poorly, but that doesn’t mean they aren't intelligent. Dyslexia is not related to low intelligence. Dyslexia is a unique mind set that is often gifted and productive, but learns differently than other minds. In fact some of the most brilliant minds of our time have been known to have dyslexia: Albert Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, Winston Churchill, Benjamin Franklin, Mozart and John Lennon to mention only a few. There are people with dyslexia in many types of highly respected careers such as: Walt Disney, Tom Cruise, Danny Glover, Cher, Magic Johnson, Carl Lewis, Bruce Jenner and General George Patton.

    Introduction to Dyslexia
The British medical literature has the first description of a specific reading disability in 1896. A "bright and intelligent boy" who had great difficulty learning to read. This intrigued the educators and subsequently more similar cases were recorded and dyslexic disorders were officially recognized as a learning disorder. There are many definitions of Dyslexia, however it is traditionally defined as "an unexpected difficulty learning to read despite intelligence, motivation, and educational opportunities".
We are now aware that dyslexia is a disorder that affects millions of people all around the world. In-fact it is said that 5 -15% of the world population i.e approx. one billion people, maybe diagnosed to be suffering from various degrees of dyslexia.
