Have You Ever Considered Becoming a Mason? Freemasonry is the oldest, largest Fraternity in the world. It's members have included Kings, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Statesmen, Generals, Admirals, Supreme Court Chief Justices, corporate CEOs, opera stars, movie stars, and probably, your next door neighbor. And Masonry is always ready to welcome good men into the Fraternity. It's ready to welcome YOU, if in your heart you can answer "yes" to a few questions. Do you believe that there is such a thing as honor, and that a man has a responsibility to act with honor in everything he does?
Freemasonry teaches that principle. We believe that a life not founded on honor is hollow and empty - that a man who acts without honor is less than a man. Do you believe in God?
Are you willing to allow others the same right to their own beliefs that you insist on yourself?
Masons insists on toleration - on the right of each person to think for himself in religious, social and political matters.

B-P and Freemasonry Many Scouters express interest in whether or not B-P was a Freemason. The values of Scouting are said to closely parallel those of Freemasonry and many of B-P's contemporaries were members of the fraternity. In researching this subject, I became acquainted with a long-time Scouter and Mason, who has devoted considerable effort to the question. His researches have included correspondence with the United Grand Lodge of England, the competent Masonic body in England, and with Brother Scouters and Masons in Belgium, England, Australia and the United States. His research leads him to the conclusion that B-P, most probably, was not a Freemason. The author, now in his 80's, is a 32º Mason, an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He has generously given permission for the publication of the conclusions of his research, requesting only that his manuscript be published without direct attribution, as he feels he is of an age and time when he does not feel able to respond to correspondence and would not wish to appear ungracious. He devotes most of his energy in continued research and writing on Freemasonry. An article edited from this manuscript has appeared in Masonic publications. Lord Baden-Powell, Benefactor of Boyhood

The enthusiasm among Renaissance men for classical and Hebrew texts brought in its train a revival, and encouraged a sophisticated and creative apprehension, of numerous mystical, alchemical, hermeticist and occultist tendencies. But it was a revival that inevitably encountered resistance from powerful vested interests, especially in theological circles. Compelled to adopt strategies for survival, seekers after "higher truths" sought immunity from reprisal and persecution in the sub-culture of the occult "underground". Thus the secret society began to proliferate. Early in the 16th century Henry Cornelius Agrippa visited England and his friends among the Oxford Humanists - John Colet and Thomas More in particular. Some academics have deduced from his own words that he formed a society in England at this time ( circa I am led to believe that there still exist "Books of Shadows" (membership books) of witches' covens, for which the earliest entries date back to the 16th century.

Freemasonry - History and Ritual
"When the authentic school [in the 18th C] came to examine the English records they could find no evidence at all of the existence of operative lodges. In medieval times the operatives' lodge had simple been a hut or lean-to on the site in which they stored their tools and took their refreshment and ease. By the 1600s the guild system, with the exception of the London Livery companies, was virtually moribund. Not was there any evidence of an English Mason word or of the English operatives having had secret modes of recognition....Accepted masonry simply seems to have appeared in England as a new organization without any prior connections with the operative craft."

The great law of analogy is everywhere the master key of all spiritual mysteries, and, although Masonry and Catholicism do not begin till we arrive at the Earth Period, they have their prototype in the earlier Periods; we shall therefore briefly touch upon the essential facts. In the Saturn Period, the Earth-in-the-making was dark; HEAT, which is the manifestation of the ever invisible fire, was the only element then manifest; embryonic mankind was mineral-like, the only lower kingdom of evolving life. Unity was everywhere observable, and the Lords of Mind who were human then, were at one among themselves. In the Western Wisdom Teaching we speak of the highest Initiate of the Saturn Period as THE FATHER.

By NAMB Staff During the annual session of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), June 15-17, 1993, the messengers overwhelmingly approved a report on Freemasonry. This action recognized the many charitable endeavors of Freemasonry. It also acknowledged that "many outstanding Christians and Southern Baptists now are, and in the past have been Masons." For the first time in the history of the SBC, however, the Convention concluded, "many tenets and teachings of Freemasonry are not compatible with Christianity or Southern Baptist doctrine." The report accepted by the Convention identified eight tenets and teachings of Freemasonry that it concluded were not compatible with Christianity. First Incompatibility: The prevalent use of offensive concepts, titles, and terms such as "Worshipful Master" for the leader of a lodge; references to their buildings as "mosques," "shrines," or "temples"; and the use of words such as "Abaddon" and "Jah- Bul-On," the so-called secret name of God. To many, these terms are not only offensive but sacrilegious

August the 2nd 1990 Saddam Hussain's forces crashed the defenses of oil rich Kuwait in fear of an Iraqi invasion into Saudi Arabia. The United States and her coalition allies poured into the Arabian Peninsula to form a deterrent that would be known as Desert Shield. The result was a series of diplomatic talks, negotiations and count negotiations that rapidly declined into a no hope situation. On August the 17th 1991 the Desert Shield became Desert Storm. The conflict was witnessed by millions through the IF, CNN and the BBC showing propaganda of the systematic eradication of Saddam's forces by a coalition far superior in technological, political and economic power. However what was little known was that from the outset the war was engineered, controlled and manipulated by an elite group. A group which had created the illusion of a man with power at the head of a million strong army on the verge of going nuclear. A man who had gained control of the 1/5 of the World's oil overnight. However in reality he was merely a pawn in amongst many pawns. Just a puppet in a grand master plan with the Gulf War as a well orchestrated stepping stone. The orchestrates of the War were by no means strangers to controlling major World events. In fact they have done so for centuries.

Z PREFACE I ONCE delivered an address before a Lodge on the subject of the external changes which Freemasonry had undergone since the period of its revival in the commencement of the eighth century. The proper treatment of the topic required a reference to German, to French, and to English authorities, with some of which I am afraid that many of my auditors were not familiar. At the close of the address, a young and intelligent Brother inquired of me how he could obtain access to the works which I had cited, and of many of which he confessed, as well as of the facts that they detailed, he now heard for the first time. It is probable that my reply was not altogether satisfactory for I told him that I knew of no course that he could adopt to attain that knowledge except the one that had been pursued by myself, namely, to spend his means in the purchase of Masonic books and his time in reading them. But there are few men who have the means, the time, and the inclination for the purchase of numerous books, some of them costly and difficult to be obtained, and for the close and attentive reading of them which is necessary to master any given subject. It was this thought that, years ago, suggested to me the task of collecting materials for a work which would furnish every Freemason who might consult its pages the means of acquiring a knowledge of all matters connected with the science, the philosophy, and the history of his Order.

History, FAQ, and contact and membership information for this mixedgender order. Predominantly in English-speaking countries.
http://comasonic.net/
The Eastern Order of International Co-Freemasonry is a worldwide body of both men and women Freemasons, who together work the traditional rites of Freemasonry with a conscious awareness of their spiritual content. It regards Freemasonry as a modern form of the ancient Mysteries, which pointed their initiates toward the Path of self-discovery and of service to all living beings. Freemasonry requires loyalty to the laws of one’s land and belief in a divine intelligence governing the universe, but it has no political or religious affiliations or programs, leaving such matters to the conscience of individual Freemasons.
