There are 8 parts of Speech in number which we deal hereunder in a detailed manner step by step. Noun Pronoun Verb Adverb ... Conjunction NOUN : A Noun is a word that denotes the name of a person, place, or a thing Note: The word thing is used to mean anything that we can think of.
Proper Noun: Proper Noun is a name of a particular person or a Place (Proper means one's own) Hence a Proper Name is a person's own name.
Note:
1. Proper Nouns are always written with a Capital Letter at the beginning. 2. Proper Nouns are some times used as Common Noun.
Example: Kalidas is often called 'the Shakespeare of India'
In this sentence, we know both 'Kalidas' and 'Shakespeare' are names and Proper Nouns but Kalidas is referred as Shakespeare (The Greatest Dramatist) so it depends on the sentence also. Common Noun: Common Noun is a name given in common to every person or thing of the same class or kind (common means shared by all) Common Nouns are Countable and Uncountable. Example: Look at the following sentence
" Raju is a good boy."
