This was the absolute first electronic communication device. People would send messages using Morse code, a series of short and long tones. It is written as dots and dashes. The system was binary; the tone would either be on or off, which is not far from how our computers today communicate. Here is the basic Morse code:

In 1858, the Transatlantic Cable was set up. This wads done by putting miles and miles of wire on a boat and hauling one end to America and the other to Europe. This allowed telegrams to pass over continents-an enormous breakthrough. Although this was a theoretical breakthrough, it was really a complete failure. They only managed to keep it working for a week or so. By this time they finally figured out how to get the wire to stay up more than a week and planted the first totally permanent working wires. This event was not as well known because it had already been tried. But this was the first successful one.

Almost all businesses and totally every government branches of the Fed, states and local levels do have opportunity to communicate online. By this way our society becomes incomparable more dynamic, rises it's productivity and … becomes more vulnerable one as well. Cyber-war is not just one of the most exciting themes of science-fiction novels any more. Government, businesses and a great part of population of the developed countries appeared too depend from the Internet now. For instance a couple of years ago the total damage to national economy from network intrusion's attacks exceeded the bank robberies ones and still continues to grow. Significant part of the national leading library resources is reachable online, the colleges propose online courses, search-engines provides answer to almost any questions. At the same time porno-show industry became one of the fastest growing source of the online revenue. This industry generated Internet content that creates healthy fear of parents. Different types and political profiles extremists groups around the world launch to the Internet thousands of hate sites every next day.

Bob Taylor, father of the ARPANET, refutes this myth in the book Where Wizards Stay Up Late by Hafner and Lyon (Touchstone Books, 1998). Index.dat: In the Microsoft Windows operating system, index.dat is a file used by the Internet Explorer web browser. It stores information such as web URLs, search queries, and recently opened files. When the Autocomplete function is enabled in Internet Explorer, every web address visited is sorted in the index.dat file, allowing the Internet Explorer to attempt to find an appropriate match when a user types in an edit field. Separate index.dat files exist for the Internet Explorer history, cache, and cookies.
