W elcome to my Irish Mythology site. I have had a strong interest in the ancient Mythology of Ireland for a long time now and I have produced this site as a source of the most popular stories of the ancient legends along with showing my Photography T he Photography in this site has mostly a Mythological theme which also shows the rugged landscape beauty of Ireland. I rish Mythology is made up of three sections or cycles, The Mythological cycle (or Mythology Cycle), Ulster cycle and The Fenian cycle. I rish Myth and Legend encompasses many stories and sagas of great adventures, love stories and fierce battles that have been handed down over time through a storytelling tradition. The coming of Christianity brought great change to Ireland and its people at the time which also meant those ancient tales could be written down for the first time by Monks and Scribes writing by candlelight in remote monasteries in remote corners of the Irish countryside. T hroughout the Landscape of Ireland markings and monuments left behind by these ancient people can still be seen today like Megalithic Tombs, Ring Forts, Dolmens, Stone Circles and Crannógs. There are also various museums around Ireland housing a wealth of artefacts which provide us with some knowledge as to how these ancient Irish people lived, what they wore, their weapons and jewellery, how they made war and how they farmed.

This is a draft article , under development. These unapproved articles are subject to edit intro Remnants of the mythology of pre-Christian Ireland are preserved in medieval Irish literature, its characters largely euphemerised and its religious significance suppressed by its Christian redactors. The surviving material has come to be grouped in four cycles: There are also a number of stories which do not fit comfortably into any of the cycles.
