    The area is about 91 880 square Kilometers. Jordan is located in the Middle East in Asia. Bounded from the north by Syria, east: Iraq and Saudia Arabia, south: Saudia Arabia and the Gulf of Aqaba (The Red Sea), west: Palestine and Israel. Most of the land consists of arid desert. Most of the Jordanian cities are located on the west side of the country, on the mountains or beside River Jordan. The land on the west side is fertile and has a mediterrenean climate. The Jordanian desert is called Badia is considered to be within the North Arabian (or Syrian) desert and occupies the eastern and southern parts of the land. The desert's northern part consists of of volcanic lava and basalt and it's southern part of out crops of sandstone and granite. The fertile rift valley Valley of Jordan forms a natural boundaries west of the country into which the Jordan River flows. Gulf of Aqaba south of Jordan gives the Kingdom an access to the Red Sea.
