Main March 25, 2007 Sunday Sunday, March 25, 2007 I got up this morning and checked e-mail – like every morning – and there was an e-mail from Mom written last night, saying Alesia wasn’t home yet from her day trip with Kathy and Paul. I had a calling card with some minutes left, so I called Mom and we chatted for a while, and then Alesia got in and I chatted with her, and Kathy. Kathy and Paul just adopted a 15 year old girl from the Ukraine, and she has been home since about last Thanksgiving. Kathy said they took Alesia to Stone Mountain. It’s a large pile of granite, just outside Atlanta, and it has a village where you can shop, and a funicular up the mountain, etc. When I go, I ride the funicular to the top. Kathy and Paul, being very tall and athletic people, actually walked up the mountain. The amazing part is they got Alesia and Alyona to walk up too. Most 15 year old Russian-born girls are not big into hiking, thus my skepticism. LOL Kathy said they had fun, which is the important thing. Kathy and Paul were very kind to take Alesia for the day. Paul loaned me the laptop I am using on the trip, which has earned him a permanent place in my heart.
