General Physics Spin pumping from finite-sized electron systems in ballistic and diffusive transport regimes
Kiminori Hattori This paper presents a theory for spin pumping from finite-sized conductors at paramagnetic resonance. The spin generation and transport in the system exposed to a rotating magnetic field are analyzed by using the nonequilibrium Green's-function formalism, showing that a time-independent spin current ... Prompt fission neutron emission in neutron and proton induced reactions at intermediate energies

V. A. Rubchenya The generalized model for the description of the prompt fission neutron spectra and multiplicities at neutron and proton energies up to about 100 MeV is described. The three main emission mechanisms considered are the precompound emission, the pre-scission particle evaporation before the saddle poin ... [Phys. Rev. f[sub K]/f[sub pi] in full QCD with domain wall valence quarks

S. R. Beane, P. F. Bedaque, K. Orginos, and M. J. Savage NPLQCD Collaboration We compute the ratio of pseudoscalar decay constants f[sub K]/f[sub pi] using domain-wall valence quarks and rooted improved Kogut-Susskind sea quarks, at a lattice spacing of b~0.125 fm. By employing continuum chiral perturbation theory, we extract the Gasser-Leutwyler low-energy constant L[sub 5] ... [Phys. Rev. D 75, 094501 (2007)] published Wed May 2, 2007.

ABSTRACT: We have extended the van der Waals and Platteeuw theory to treat multiple occupancy of a single cage of clathrate hydrates, which has not been taken into account in the original theory but has been experimentally confirmed as a real entity. We propose a simple way to calculate the free energy of multiple cage occupancy and apply it to argon clathrate structure II in which a larger cage can be occupied by two argon atoms. The chemical potential of argon is calculated treating it as an imperfect gas, which is crucial to predict accurate pressure dependence of double occupancy expected at high pressure. It is found that double occupancy dominates over single occupancy when the guest pressure in equilibrium with the clathrate hydrate exceeds 270 MPa. DOCUMENT TYPE: Article
