It is based at Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) but serves the Providence Veteran's Hospital (VAMC) as well. The plastic surgery residents (two per year) rotate through both hospitals during the last two years of their residency. The residency program is very busy and quite diversified clinically, with over 4500 OR cases per year. Dr.Albert Oh is the director of Craniofacial/Cleft surgery, and he and Dr. Patrick Sullivan run the Craniofacial/Maxillofacial Service, combining general and otolaryngological backgrounds with craniofacial fellowships for in-depth expertise in the treatment of traumatic and congenital deformities of the head and neck. Drs. Lee Edstrom, Richard Zienowicz, and Scott Schmidt manage a busy Hand and Microvascular Service at RIH, and Dr. Zienowicz is well known for his work in breast reconstruction and body contouring. From my 28 years of experience, for a girl who has never had implants, I can insert a 400cc to 700cc implant. If the girl already has fairly large breasts or a lot of extra skin in her breasts, maybe up to 1500ccs. Second operation, we could go 1300ccs to 1800ccs, then in 3 to 6 months - 2000ccs to 2500ccs.
