In This Section ... " Iraqi women shot dead in Baghdad"
Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4329075.stm
The trio were said to have been shot as they stood on a street corner. Police said they believed the women had been accused by a religious movement of being prostitutes, and were not killed for political reasons. Since the fall of Saddam Hussein, there has been a series of violent attacks on activities perceived to be contrary to the moral code of Islam.
Alcohol shops have been targeted in the capital and other cities. Under Saddam Hussein, such shops were allowed, but his regime banned drinking in public from the mid-1990s. There have been threats against beauty parlours as well as CD and DVD stores deemed to be selling morally offensive material. Attacks targeting Iraq's Christian minority have become more frequent. Churches in the northern city of Mosul and Baghdad have been bombed recently.
This is an horrible act. I am very scared for the future of Iraq if they are to act on such impulses that are not even proven. Iraq has always been a very religious country but it is surprising to hear that an terrifying act such as murder can be committed in broad daylight on an accusation of something morally wrong. Even if one acts morally wrong, they should not be forced to give up their life.

Truthout, Smirkingchimp, and What Really Happened provide links to overlooked news stories. They cull news from many sources including sources that are unfamiliar to most people. Buzzflash also provides links to overlooked news stories, but the stories serve a political agenda. It's a pity and a sad commentary on the state of commercial media in this country that so many important stories are ignored. You must investigate these websites if you want to stay informed. Underneath the Hebrew and Chaldee of the Old Testament and the Greek of the New Testament there is hidden an extraordinary disposition of numbers which cannot be explained away by human intelligence. In order to understand this we must remember that none of these languages had symbols for numbers such as we have (1,2,3,4, etc). Instead of numeric symbols they made use of the letters of their alphabet... 2nd Coming of Jesus
In this first verse, God says He will allow all the nations of the world to come against Jerusalem. This verse tells us that Jerusalem will be taken, the houses will be "rifled," and the women ravished. Half of the city will actually go into captivity, but the one third remnant will not be killed during this takeover. Remember, two thirds of the Jewish people will be killed, one third will not. Fil Tsai : brought my chair up after someone stole it from my room; also helped with setting up my computer; first person to tell me more about Christianity, inviting me to a IV coffeehouse and introducing me to Large Group; analyst at Ernst and Young, he spends all his time doing computer web stuff that I don't quite understand; plays computer games; watch out when you go shopping with him he just might grab the last in-stock box of cereal on sale! Chad Eslinger : Another guy who likes to answer email questions, I spend a lot of time ICQ-ing him about religion stuff. Of course, we talk about religion only when we're not talking about Chad's love life! : ) I'm actually not sure how I first met him I think it was through Intervarsity and then later through Jonquil. This guy loves to cook, although he hasn't cook for me yet! I just hear through the grapevine that he makes a very mean tiramisu! He also loves to dance. In fact, he and Fil both danced in DM crazy guys! Now down at South Carolina, you can catch him on ICQ whenever he isn't working crazy hours in the middle of the night! David (Skee) Lo : Another super smart guy who is now in med school! I first met him through Phil (Tang), when they used to sit around doing these superhard B-52 math problems that had no answers. Back then, he was such a geek that he would take 10 minutes study breaks and go shower! And I have never seen anyone eat a dinner as fast as he did when he had studying to do! That's ok, now he is totally laid back : ) Anyways, you should see his face when he drinks I think the kool-aide guy might look less red than he! But he first introduced me to AACM and also spent a lot of time afterwards talking to me about questions (you have to be a good guy to spend time talking to me when the books are calling!). You should see his room in the med school it's bigger the apartment I have now, and he even has his own bathroom!

The Epoch Times - Translated from Chinese Edition
Oct 06, 2004
While Chinese president Hu Jintao’s appeal to all fields in Hong Kong for “achieving harmony through tolerance and mutual understanding ” was still vivid in mind, a petition sent to the officials of The Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong SAR for delivery to the central government on Oct. 1, China’s National Day, was thrown into the trash. The office did not intend to submit the Hong Kong people’s petition to the central government in Beijing. Members of the “Justice and Peace Commission of the Hong Kong Catholic Diocese” and the “Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements In China” paraded from the Western Division of the Police Station to The Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong SAR to appeal and condemn the Communist government’s repression of religious freedom in China. They had with them the collection, “The birds in the Cage,” with a birdcage printed on the cover. It is a collection about the freedom of religion in Mainland China (www.Hong Kongjp.org/book/book/religion_index.htm
