By Ryan Singel Categories: Hacks and Cracks Anonymous congregates on the net at various hangouts such as 711chan.org (NSFW) and partyvan.info and sundry IRC channels. The group usually amuses itself by stealing passwords to downloading sites and finding ways to harass online communities that its members disdain. They were last seen on THREAT LEVEL when a Los Angeles Fox News affiliate ran a story that hilariously implied the group's arsenal included exploding vans. The attack on Scientology, which Anonymous has dubbed Project Chanology, started in recent days, set off by the Church's most recent attempt to censor the internet by forcing sites to remove a creepy Tom Cruise Scientology video. A wiki set up for the project directs Anonymous members to download and use denial of service software, make prank calls, host Scientology documents the Church considers proprietary, and fax endless loops of black pages to the Church's fax machines to waste ink. SCIENTOLOGY: THE DOCTRINE OF CLARITY BACK TO HOME
By Saurabh Bhattacharya Starting with Dianetics in the 1950s, science fiction author and philosopher L. Ron Hubbard developed Scientology , which claims to make enlightenment scientifically achievable Could there be a science of enlightenment? Centuries of philosophies spiritual teachers , dogmas and religions later, the only thing that we humans seem to have realized is that enlightenment, or complete freedom if you will, is too much of a personal experience to be achieved systematically by all. Bottomline: you either get enlightened or you don't. Not so, claims Scientology, a unique 'applied religious philosophy' that has been making waves in the USA and Europe for decades with dedicated followers like Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and John Travolta, and is now gradually introducing its doctrines on Indian shores. The underlying principle of Scientology is that man is essentially a spiritual being, with more to him than flesh and blood.

SCIENTOLOGY (1/4)
The Founder of the Church of Scientology, Lafayette Ronald Hubbard, was born in Tilden, Nebraska, in 1911. He became a famous author known mostly for his pulp science fiction stories, and published over 200 works over the course of his life. In 1938, he deduced the common denominator of existence to be "survive" and outlined his theory that "life is composed of two things: the material universe and an X-factor... that can evidently organize and mobilize the material universe." This fundamental concept formed the basis of both of his philosophies: Dianetics and Scientology. In 1951, Hubbard formed Scientology, which is based on his theory that humans are spiritual beings, as well as his "X-factor." The first Church of Scientology was formed in Los Angeles in 1954 by persons other than Hubbard, and the Founding Church of Scientology was founded in Washington, DC in 1955.

SCIENTOLOGY
(THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY)
Scientology, one of the genuinely new religions to originate in the United States in the twentieth century, was founded by L. Ron Hubbard (1911-1986). The Church of Scientology believes "that Man is basically good, that he is seeking to survive, [and] that his survival depends on himself and upon his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe" (from Church of Scientology's statement of beliefs). Hubbard's extensive writings and taped lectures constitute the beliefs and the basis for the religion's practices. The aims of Scientology are "A civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights." L. Ron Hubbard grew up mostly in Montana, but also lived in Nebraska; Seattle, Washington; and Washington, DC . As a child he read extensively, and by the age of twelve was studying the theories of Freud. As a teenager Hubbard traveled throughout Asia and the East, continuing his studies of philosophy, religion, and human nature. In 1929 he returned to the United States and in 1930 enrolled in George Washington University, studying mathematics, engineering, and nuclear physics. Hubbard wanted to answer the basic questions relating to the human being's nature, and decided to do further research on his own. To finance this, he began a literary career in the early 1930s, publishing numerous stories and screen plays in various genres, including adventure, mystery, and science fiction. Hubbard continued his travels and then served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was injured during the war, and used some of his own theories concerning the human mind to assist in his healing.

scientology personal counseling is described here. scientology auditing can restore self confidence, happiness and spiritual freedom.
http://www.auditing.org/
What is Scientology Auditing?
Scientology auditing is a unique form of personal spiritual counseling which helps people look at their own existence and improves their ability to confront what they are and where they are. Scientology auditing can bring any person from a condition of spiritual blindness to the brilliant joy of spiritual existence. A person trained and qualified in applying auditing to individuals for their betterment is called an auditor. Auditor is defined as one who listens, from the Latin audire meaning to hear or listen. An auditor is a minister or minister-in-training of a church of Scientology.
Introduction to Scientology
In this twenty-first century, most have no real grasp of those factors governing their existence. And yet, simply stated, had they a greater understanding of themselves and their fellows they would be able to improve conditions and thus live happier lives. This, then, is the function of Scientology: to enable people to improve their lot through understanding. Before Scientology, the tremendous scientific advances of this era were not matched by similar advances in the humanities. Our knowledge of the physical universe had far outdistanced our knowledge of ourselves. The resulting pressures from such an imbalance account for much that has unsettled society and threatens the future. Therefore, what Scientology represented to many when it appeared in the early 1950s was a restoration of the balance.

Hackers declare Scientology D-day

February 7, 2008
New videos claiming to be from Anonymous have been posted on YouTube, naming February 10 as an international day of protest against Scientology.
Graphic: Janna Mamar Anonymous internet users who have previously crashed Church of Scientology websites have named February 10 as a worldwide day of protest in a bid to "destroy" the controversial religion. The group - called Anonymous - which includes skilled computer hackers, has posted a message on YouTube declaring war on Scientology, accusing it of trying to censor the internet and conducting "campaigns of misinformation". The apparent catalyst for the attack was YouTube's decision to remove a video of Hollywood star Tom Cruise - one of Scientology's most high-profile recruits - espousing the religion's virtues after the church asked that it be pulled. "Anonymous has therefore decided that your organisation should be destroyed, for the good of your followers, for the good of mankind, and for our own enjoyment," the statement says.

Sitting on a red velvet chair in the middle of a majestic, oak-panelled hall in East Grinstead, I have rarely felt more fearful for my sanity. On the wall in front of me, a creepy, larger-than-life-sized portrait of an old man seems to be staring straight at me. In front of the portrait, Laura, a middle-aged woman wearing a high-necked blouse and ostentatious gold cross, stands behind a lectern reading aloud from a huge leather-bound tome. None of the worshippers take their eyes off Laura as they repeat her words back to her. Phrases such as: "All men have inalienable rights to think freely, to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others" are made ridiculous by the followers repeating them in a monotonous drone.

It means basically to err, to make mistakes, or more specifically to have fixed ideas which are not true. The word is also used in its scientific sense. It means departure from a straight line. If a line should go from A to B, then if it is aberrated it would go from A to some other point, to some other point, to some other point, to some other point, to some other point, and finally arrive at B. Taken in its scientific sense, it would also mean the lack of straightness or to see crookedly as, in example, a man sees a horse but thinks he sees an elephant. Introduction
These pages are a collection of information regarding the Church of Scientology and it's dealings with the world around it. Let me be the first to say that they are not a flattering look at Scientology. Let me also say that most of this information is not my own. It is collected from various public sources around the web and newsgroups. While there is reference to "secret" teachings, none of the documents are stored on this server (although links to sources may be provided).
This page does assume that the reader has an understanding of Christianity, its basic theology and teachings regarding Jesus Christ. It looks at some of the theological issues that divide the two religions, and also has a long hard look at L. Ron Hubbard himself. I do this because it is my belief that a 'thing' is as only as strong as the foundations it is built on. Take Christianity, for example. It is a religion that is 100% dependant on the character and person of Jesus Christ. If it could be proven that Jesus was of bad character, lied, stole, etc, then the entire Christian faith is worthless. It becomes nothing more than a social group with some rather strict membership guidelines.

By Wendy M. Grossman When computers are seized because they contain allegedly stolen intellectual property, or the security of anonymous remailers is pierced by police, alt.scientology.war the days of the Internet as a cozy, private, intellectual cocktail party are over.
Welcome to mortal combat between two alien cultures - a flame war with real bullets. The raiding party says he'll have his equipment back by Monday. Weeks later, he's still waiting. Lerma is not the first. In February, similar raids were staged on Dennis Erlich in Glendale, California, and on anon.penet.fi, an anonymous remailer run by Johan Helsingius in Finland. Then more - on Tuesday, August 22, 1995. This time it's two raids. The target is FactNet, an anticult electronic library and archive based in Golden, Colorado. One raid is on FactNet chair - and former Scientologist - Lawrence Wollersheim, the unpaid winner of a multimillion-dollar suit against the church. The other is on FactNet director Bob Penny. FactNet has been expecting a raid since early spring, and it long ago told Internet users to download as much of its archives as possible. There are now FactNet anti-Scientology kits on websites all over the world. With netters everywhere able to cut and paste them, transmit and download them, they become more and more difficult to track down. It would take a lot of international cooperation and a lot of police power to get them all.
