SICKLE CELL ANEMIA
If you have sickle cell trait, you have inherited the gene for sickle cell disease - sickle cell anemia. Sickle cell trait does not turn into sickle cell disease. If someone has sickle cell trait and his partner has sickle cell trait they may produce a child with sickle cell disease. There are about 2.5 million people in America with sickle cell trait.
What Is Sickle Cell Anemia?
Sickle cell anemia , also called Hemoglobin SS Disease , is an inherited blood disorder, characterized primarily by chronic anemia and periodic episodes of pain. The underlying problem involves hemoglobin, a component of the red cells in the blood. The hemoglobin molecules in each red blood cell carry oxygen from the lungs to the body organs and tissues and bring back carbon dioxide to the lungs. In sickle cell anemia, the hemoglobin is defective. After the hemoglobin molecules give up their oxygen, some of them may cluster together and form long, rod-like structures. These structures cause the red blood cells to become stiff and to assume a sickle shape. Sickled red cells, unlike normal red cells, which are usually smooth and donut-shaped, cannot squeeze through small blood vessels. Instead, they stack up and cause blockages that deprive the organs and tissue of oxygen-carrying blood. This process produces the periodic episodes of pain and ultimately can damage the tissues and vital organs and lead to other serious medical problems.

Alanistan 12-29-2006, 11:07 AM Darvidian mixture in Azeris or the Indo-Aryans did not haram the nations infact Azeris have the highest IQ in the Middle East and Caucasian which is on average the IQ of the Azeri is 93 which is higher than some European white countries such as Greece or Malta who have an average IQ of 90. Also Darvidians are said to have a high IQ recent studies shows that southern India is leading in development and being more productive than Northern India especially in Kerla where major developments projects are leading. For Riffan NS who refered to Dravidians being lazy hahaha. Dravidians work the hardest and are the smartest people for example sillicon Valley is full of Darvidian scientists. In India the economy of the country depends on the south. We the Azeris have Mongol, Aryan(White), and Dravidian people Yes we are mongerls but we are intellgent here are few Dravidian-mixed Azerishttp://i18.tinypic.com/4fwddi1.jpg[/IMG]

Use probeware to assess physiological responses and immediately see the connection between response, number tables and data graphs. Students can see their progress as they become physically fit over the year, examine their responses to stresses, determine the calories in foods, and watch their bogy response to anger and anger management. Microbes and Health
Bacteria are in the air and all over. Though most are harmless, those that make us sick (germs) can make use VERY ill. Handwashing may be the most effective way to protect yourself.
Bacteria and viruses can be transmitted through intimate contact, causing deadly diseases such as anthrax, AIDS and hepatitis. Microbes are also important in food production, especially, cheeses, yopgurt, bread, beer and wine! Nutrition Genes, Diseases
