These are stories on HONG BANG dynasty, on offspring of dragon and fairy, bag of hundred eggs, eighteen kings of Hung Vuong dynasty, Son Tinh - Thuy Tinh's conflict, Thanh Giong's victory over An foreign aggressors, folk of betel and areca nuts, "banh chung banh day", watermelon ..... All these legends together can be regarded as a folk history comprising mythology characteristic as well as core of history in memory and tradition through many ages of people. Most of history of a nation of the world, with or without writing, is penetrated with treasure of folk and legends. In era of TRAN (1226-1400) and LE (1428-1527), these historic legends were firstly collected and compiled by the contemporary authors' view. The two symbolic works of this aspect were Viet Dien U Linh by Ly Te Xuyen with a foreword in 1329, and Linh Nam Trich Quai by Tran The Phap in around end of Tran, then edited by Vu Quynh and Kieu Phu in Le era with prologue in 1492-1493.

Vietnam War Accounting History The U.S. government continues to account for Americans missing in Southeast Asia from the Vietnam War. Since late 1973, the remains of over 700 Americans killed in that war have been returned and identified. Many have been buried with full military honors in accordance with the wishes of surviving family members. Efforts continue to recover nearly 1,800 Americans who remain unaccounted-for from the conflict . Over the next decade, Vietnam returned few remains of missing Americans. In the mid-1980s, the U.S. and Vietnam increased the frequency of high-level policy and technical meetings to help resolve the POW/MIA issue. The U.S. government viewed this work as a humanitarian obligation. The Vietnamese slowly began to return American remains that they had previously collected and stored; eventually they permitted the U.S. to excavate a few crash sites. In 1988 a presidential emissary, General John Vessey, USA (Ret.), convinced the Vietnamese to permit U.S. teams to search throughout the country. As part of an ongoing process, for over a decade the U.S. government has conducted joint field activities with Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Throughout those countries, U.S. teams investigate and excavate crash and burial sites. They interview many persons who have knowledge about loss circumstances . The U.S. government has also pressed for and obtained access to historical wartime records and archives. These often provide information relevant to the fates of missing Americans .

SITE UPDATED 02-12-08 This history deals with the activities, personnel and accomplishments of the 75th Infantry (Ranger),Regiment companies during the period 1 February 1969 through 15 October 1974 and makes reference to the units who preceded the designation of the 75th Infantry (Ranger).
The 75th Ranger Regiment is linked directly and historically to the 13 Infantry Companies of the 75th that were active in Vietnam from February 1, 1969 until August 15, 1972, the longest sustained combat history for an American Ranger unit in more than three hundred years of United States Army Ranger History. The 75th Infantry Regiment was activated in Okinawa during 1954 and traced its lineage to the 475th Infantry Regiment, thence to the 5307th Composite Provisional Unit, popularly known as Merrill's Marauders
Soon after arriving in Vietnam the commanders of the Divisions and separate Brigades realized the need for an elite reconnaissance element to provide the combat intelligence needed to accomplish the mission of finding a very elusive enemy that fought a sustained battle when and where they chose.

In February 2005, Hutchison Telecom was granted an investment licence by the government for the project and in January 2007, we launched HT Mobile While we offered a superior network the market uptake was greatly hampered by the lack of affordable CDMA handsets, in particular those with the Vietnamese language option, coupled with the trend of leading manufacturers to scale back handset development for this market. On 8 March 2008 we received government approval to convert from CDMA technology to GSM. As a result, HT Mobile will transit its customers to an advanced nationwide GSM network intended to be launched within 2008.

History of Vietnam
Vietnam
Vietnam is a densely-populated, progressing country that in the last 30 years has had to recover from the devastation of war, the loss of financial support from the old Soviet Bloc, and the inflexibility of a designed economy. Significant advancement was accomplished from 1986 to 1997 in progressing ahead from an enormously low intensity of development and considerably plummeting poverty.
Vietnam is a strip of land shaped like the letter “S”, situated on the eastern part of the Indochinese peninsula. To the north is China, to the west – Laos and Cambodia, the East Sea to the east and to the east and south the Pacific Ocean. Mountains and hills surround three quarters of Vietnam’s territory. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam.
The beautiful natural surroundings of the country is excessively fascinating to visitors with  the Red River Delta in the north, the Mekong Delta in the south and roughly the entire coastal strip is covered with green rice paddies take care of by women in conical hats. Soaring mountains some covered by dense forests and beaches along the coast, make Vietnam a brilliant spectacle.

The Vietnam War A Report By: Nathan C. Lee The Vietnam War has been a dark shadow in American military history, and in this
report I hope to shed some light on this highly controversial subject and what really
happened there. However, to understand American involvement you must examine the
past events in Vietnam which brought the awesome power of the American military
there. For hundreds of years the Vietnamese people have fought off invaders, before the
outbreak of World War II the Vietnamese fought off numerous invasions by the Chinese,
during World War II the Vietnamese fought the Japanese Imperialist Army. Shortly after the end of World War II the French sent its troops into Indochina
(Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, etc....) to take back control of its colony. Shortly after the
Viet Minh, the Vietnamese resistance group led by Ho Chi Minh, took up arms against
the French. In July 1954, Viet Minh forces attacked the French outpost at Dien Bien Phu.
After days of intensive and bloody battle, the French base perimeter was shrunk down to

In 1986, the government initiated a policy of reform called Doi Moi. It triggered ongoing economic liberalization. The result has been a dramatic increase in foreign investment and economic growth. Vietnam is now a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). On July 13, 2000, the United States and Viet Nam officially normalized trade relations.
A country of almost 80 million people, approximately the size of New Mexico, it has only started on the long road to economic prosperity. But the raw material and resources are there. The greatest natural resource is, underniably, the people.
Last century, Viet Nam fought wars with France, Japan, the United States, China and Cambodia. The new millennium is ushering in a preriod of potential prosperity in the wake of peace. With the government continuing its enlightened policy of Doi Moi and freedom, Vietnam has the real potential to be one of the great economic success stories of the twenty-first century. The Kingdom of Funan
In the 1st century of Christian reckoning the kingdom of Funan establishes itself in the Mekong delta , which today is Vietnamese territory. The founders of this kingdom have probably been Indian immigrants . In subsequent centuries Funan develops into a seafaring merchant power without expanding into a state with a large land area. It is strategically well located to become a trading power as in those days ships travelled almost exclusively close to the coastline and the land tip of the Mekong delta was an important stopover on the sea route between China and the Malay realms on the Malay Peninsula, on Sumatra and on Java. In the 6th century the kingdom of Funan dissolves. An important reason for the decline of Funan is the improved seafaring technology allowing ships to stray farther from the coasts. Funan is conquered by the kingdom of Champa, which has established itself to the North of Funan.

Gradual evolution emerged to the Bronze Age when inhabitants produced bronze tools, and arms with the raising of domestic farms of buffaloes, oxen and pigs. Three cultural groups developed during this age: Pre-Dong Son Culture - lived in the North around the Ma River, the Ca River and also the Red River Delta.

Vietnam
History
The sophisticated Bronze Age Dong Son culture emerged around the 3rd century BC. From the 1st to the 6th centuries AD, the south of what is now Vietnam was part of the Indianised kingdom of Funan, which produced fine art and architecture. The Hindu kingdom of Champa appeared around present-day Danang in the late 2nd century and had spread south to what is now Nha Trang by the 8th century. The kingdom existed in part through conducting raids in the region. The Chinese conquered the Red River Delta in the 2nd century and their 1000-year rule, marked by tenacious Vietnamese resistance and repeated rebellions, ended in AD 938 when Ngo Quyen vanquished the Chinese armies at the Bach Dang River. During the next few centuries, Vietnam repulsed repeated invasions by China, and expanded its borders southwards from the Red River Delta, populating much of the Mekong Delta. In 1858, French and Spanish-led forces stormed Danang after several missionaries had been killed. A year later, Saigon was seized. By 1867, France had conquered all of southern Vietnam, which became the French colony of Cochinchina. Communist guerillas under the leadership of Ho Chi Minh resisted French domination during and after WWII. Ho Chi Minh's declaration of Vietnamese independence in 1945 sparked violent confrontations with the French, culminating in the French military defeat at Dien Bien Phu in 1954.
