World World Events PDA View Full Version : Is It Rape Or Is It Girls Just Want To Have Fun Post Reply Create New Thread Buffalo Roam 07-16-07, 09:28 PM I was in the Military for 20 years, and I have been on most of the Continents of the world, and the one thing I have found in common is the fact that men in the military are supplied by the indigenous ladies with sex.
I have been in the Middle East and I know about the fact that not only are their Brothels there, but there are also free lancers, who Have Pussy Will Travel, and come to the men to service their needs, some do it for money, some do it for money and fun, and their are those who do it for Love, but in every place that I have ever served they were there, Europe, The Middle East, Asia, South America, and North America, it is the oldest service industry in the world, and the women in the Islamic countries are no different than any were else, there are the Good, the Wild, and the Bad, but in the end some will always service the trade, and in every country that I have ever been there were the men from that country who ran the service trade, and sold their women for the Coin, so yes tell me how wind driven snow pure the women of the middle east are, and the men who sell them.
Now I don't deny that rape happens, but in the U.S. Military which I am most familiar if there is a rape reported, it is investigated toughly and if the allegation is founded, charges are brought and a trial is held, and the Beauty of our system of Law is that it don't take the Witness of 4 men to get a conviction, and the Victim doesn't have to be worried becoming a Honor Killing victim of Her family, and being charged and executed for reporting the crime by the Sharia' Courts.

A Scandal Bigger than Walter Reed – The Rape, Assault and Harassment of Women in the Military
Kevin Zeese April 12, 2007 Women are facing widespread sexual harassment and even rape by their male comrades in the military. The threat of sexual violence against female soldiers by their male colleagues is so great that women are warned not to out to the bathroom alone at night. This has resulted in women stopping drinking fluids at 3:00 in the afternoon and has even led to deaths due to dehydration.
How common are these problems? It is difficult to tell since the military has not published a complete survey but indications are that 80% have faced sexual harassment and 30% have been raped. This is a disgrace that should be resulting in hearings on Capitol Hill, independent investigations, policy changes and loud cries by women’s rights activists. It should be a bigger scandal than the problems at Walter Reed but so far there is mostly silence.
Women fighting in Iraq face two sources of potential post traumatic stress disorder: the traditional combat related action; and sexual assault and harassment by their fellow soldiers. With regard to combat related PTSD, while women are generally limited to combat-support roles, they are still witnessing a historic amount of violence. Roadside bombs and blind ambushes, civilians who look like insurgents and resistance fighters who look like civilians limits the difference between the stress of combat units and support units.

Top General Considers Homosexual Acts "Immoral"
by Ted Slater on Mar 13, 2007 at 10:46 AM
A top U.S. general is getting slack from some in the media and gay lobby for his statement that he believes homosexual acts to be "immoral." According to the Chicago Tribune , Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said: "I believe homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts.... I do not believe the United States is well served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way. As an individual, I would not want [acceptance of gay behavior] to be our policy, just like I would not want it to be our policy that if we were to find out that so-and-so was sleeping with somebody else's wife, that we would just look the other way, which we do not. We prosecute that kind of immoral behavior." This morning I heard that some in the media and homosexual lobby are outraged at Pace's conviction that homosexual behavior is "immoral," and that therefore there's no place for it in the U.S. military. Their claim seems to be that morality is either irrelevant or merely situational. And regardless of which it is, it is undoubtedly quaint not something someone in public service should reference to support their policy position. But the truth remains that morality is the foundation of all rules and laws. We have laws against murder because murder is immoral. We have laws against lying in court because bearing false witness is immoral. We have laws against rape and theft and adultery because these are immoral activities.

Sadr ministers walk out of Iraq government in protest at US
By Patrick Cockburn The Independent
Published: 17 April 2007
The nationalist Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has ordered his ministers to leave the Iraqi government because of its refusal to set a timetable for US troop withdrawal from Iraq. A violent confrontation between America and the Sadrist movement, popular among the Shia majority, would mark a new stage in the four-year war in which the US has hitherto been fighting the minority Sunni community. The departure of the six ministers will weaken the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, who relied on the support of their movement for a majority in parliament. The Sadrists accused Mr Maliki of "ignoring the will of the people" over the issue of a timed American withdrawal. Muqtada al-Sadr has been hiding for two months but in recent weeks has demanded an end to the occupation. He has organised peaceful rallies attended by tens of thousands of demonstrators in Najaf at which Sadr supporters waved Iraqi flags and chanted their opposition to the continuing US presence. Menacingly for the US, Mr Sadr called on Iraqi police and soldiers, many of them his supporters, to oppose the occupation. His new anti-American campaign is in keeping with Iraqi opinion going by a recent poll by ABC, the BBC, ARD and USA Today. It showed that 78 per cent of Iraqis oppose the presence of US forces in Iraq. More than 7 out of 10 Shia - and almost all Sunni - say the US military presence makes security worse.

Fannie,
Emily,
Thanks for your input. I think you are right on about the coercive element with regard to racial/ethnic minorities. They are heavily recruited in high schools and the military is seen as one of but a few legitimate and accepted career paths. (This is also somewhat true for white people from blue collar backgrounds. As I know many people from high school who are or were in the military).
DADT is a very lame policy. And, even though I share many of your concerns with the military, it is also an institution that is pretty well respected among the general population. While most people dislike and distrust our government and political leaders, they honor and respect our soldiers. Because, ultimately, our soldiers are like us- the common people. And our leaders are "elites" out of touch with the rest of us. Which is why I believe that if gay people were allowed to fully be a part of this well-respected institution, it would lead to more respect., and as "Anon" argues, equal rights for gay people.
But, I guess we'll find out once DADT is finally repealed

Categorized under Derechos Humanos Guerra derechos de mujeres Support the Truth IS VIOLENCE LIKE A GENIE in a bottle, once summoned answerable only to its own propagation? And specifically, why is it so important for you and me to know the truth about the atrocities that troops commit while embarked upon their glorious missions of Liberty and Justice®? Because these atrocities; these crimes against the bodies and spirits of innocent humans; atrocities like torture and rape and murder —are not the anomoly of a few apples souring, but instead are horrors endemic to and inherent in the very environment of war. After much failure, American sociologist Bob Lilly found a publisher for his book Taken by Force, a book that tells a truth nobody wanted to hear, and a book that collected many angry reviews and personal attacks. What is the truth nobody wanted to hear? That between 1942 and 1945, American soldiers in England, France, and Germany were estimated to have raped women or young girls 14,000 times. We note with interest that the article in which I read this does not put the word "women" in there. And it does not put the words "young girls" in there. And it arranges the sentence to keep the word "rapes" in a very passive form. The article tells us that "An estimated 14,000 rapes were committed." It's a sentence so dry you can lay it on your cream cheese, down it with coffee and a bagel and never once feel the truth you're being given. So you see, even those who want to tell the truth about those telling the truth sometimes shy away from it. But it is important we do not shy away from this truth. Not if we want to improve as a species.

What planet are we on?
When I was younger, I lived in a fantasy world (Well, I still do sometimes — just different types of fantasies). Mostly I was drawn to sci-fi, and along with my obsessive "Twilight Zone," "Outer Limits" and "Star Trek" watching, I remember seeing a movie about a planet (Venus, to be exact) populated entirely by women and a few nasty lizard-like beasts — "Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women." Sometimes, I think that's the way we're headed. Not that we're being overrun by prehistoric beasts. But it sometimes seems to me that we are marginalizing men so much that women may find ourselves living alone on a planet, communicating telepathically and happily biting off the heads of fish. (If you want to experience what I'm talking about, you can download the movie for free — it's in the public domain — at http://www.archive.org/details/VoyagetothePlanetofPrehistoricWomen) Women can have babies without men (and of course there's talk that sperm can be made without them, too). Women outnumber men in universities, law school and medical schools. Twice as many unmarried women are buying homes than single men. Almost everything directed toward women now is seen as "empowering" them (a la the MILPH Web site) ... and on and on.

Does Jim Henley Control The Iraqi Police?
14 Mar 2007 12:53 pm So this is pretty weird. Jim Henley did a post noting that Iraq doesn't provide the best circumstances for whoring or making time with the local girls, wondering who, if anyone, American troops were having sex with. He handed the assignment off to Spencer Ackerman, who's in Iraq at the moment. Coincidentally, Spencer was present for a meeting between an Iraqi police commander and a US army officer during which the Iraqi had the exact same question The official answer turns out to be that our troops aren't having any sex at all, but it doesn't seem especially plausible that this rule is being met with 100 percent compliance. The explanation might be that there are women in the military now. March 14, 2007 1:14 PM I guess I should read links first before commenting. March 14, 2007 1:15 PM One consequence of the unavailability of local women and the largely male makeup of the American forces is the Queen of the Desert phenomenon. Even the most Plain Jane female servicemember will find herself the object of male lust to a hitherto unimaginable extent. She will be like a prom queen at a Star Trek convention. Not to besmirch the military or anything, but prisons are another example of an environment with little or no access to women, and we all know what happens there.

December 11th, 2007 by MICHAEL STICKINGS, Assistant Editor this A Houston, Texas woman says she was gang-raped by Halliburton/KBR coworkers in Baghdad, and the company and the U.S. government are covering up the incident. In a lawsuit filed in federal court against Halliburton and its then-subsidiary KBR, Jones says she was held in the shipping container for at least 24 hours without food or water by KBR, which posted armed security guards outside her door, who would not let her leave.
Please note that Halliburton And now we learn that some of its employees brutally gang-raped one of its own, that the woman was threatened, terrorized, and held against her will, and that the company has been covering up the incident for two years.
