RSS Feed Artist: Arcand, Nathaniel Arcand raises hell in oater By STEVE TILLEY fctAdTag("bigbox",MyGenericTagVar,1); EDMONTON There won't be any stretch limos, red carpets or horde of paparazzi around when local actor Nathaniel Arcand shows up at the premiere of his latest movie tonight. "I'll be in, like, blue jeans and T-shirt," joked Arcand, one of the stars of the action-heavy Warner Bros. western, American Outlaws, which screens tonight at the SilverCity theatres in West Edmonton Mall as part of an invite-only sneak preview. It opens Friday. The Edmonton-raised Arcand plays Comanche Joe, one of the members of a Hollywood version of the Jesse James gang that includes Jesse himself (Colin Farrell), brother Frank (Gabriel Macht), the Younger brothers (Scott Caan, Will McCormack and Gregory Smith) and Zee Mimms (Ali Larter). Timothy Dalton and Kathy Bates also appear, the latter as the James' boys' momma. To suit the tastes of a high-octane action-comedy, American Outlaws plays fast and loose with historical facts. Not surprising, given producer James G. Robinson was behind the Kevin Costner vehicle Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves as well as 1988's pop-western, Young Guns. | |
