AGRICULTURE VS. INDUSTRY

U.S. CORPORATIONS AND THE NAZIS
...
CONCLUSION
PREFACE Before the Gatewood Galbraith for Governor Campaign in 1991, few Kentuckians knew that the plant that the federal government had demonized for over 50 years as "Marijuana - Assassin of Youth," was, in fact, Cannabis Hemp, the most traded commodity in the world until the mid-1800s, and our state's number one crop, industry, and most important source of revenue, for over 150 years. Today, thanks to the efforts of pioneer hemp researchers and public advocates such as Galbraith, Jack Fraizer, Jack Herer, Chris Conrad, Ed Rosenthal, Don Wirtshafter and others, the federal government's unjustifiable suppression of our state's right to develop our most valuable and versatile natural resource, is facing increasing opposition from an informed public. Hemp is now recognized as the number one agriculturally renewable raw material in the world, and perhaps the only crop / industry which can guarantee us industrial and economic independence from the trans-national corporations.

9. William Allison Davis
A Biography of the Anthropologist William Allison Davis.
http://www.mnsu.edu/emuseum/information/biography/abcde/davis_william.html
William Allison Davis
Allison Davis led a long thoughtful life trying to help many others along on his journey. It all started on October 14, 1902, when William Allison Davis was born to John and Gabrielle Davis. They raised him on a farm in Virginia with his two siblings, Dorothy and John Jr. By the time he was a teenager the family moved to Washington DC. As a young child Allison Davis felt that he had to do something about the discrimination towards African Americans, so he devoted his life to trying to make a difference among the equal treatment children of different races. Allison Davis worked really hard at everything that he did and that could explain why he was valedictorian of his high school class, at an all segregated Dunbar High School. Shortly after high school, Allison decided he wanted to fight the racial caste system. He first went to Williams College in Massachusetts, where he graduated as valedictorian in 1924 and also got his bachelor of arts. After Allison Davis got his Masters in English from Harvard University in 1925, he taught students English at Hampton Institute. After teaching he realized that there were many young African Americans being under schooled and he wanted that to change. So he went back to Harvard and got his Masters in Anthropology in 1932.

William Davis, M.D
73R, 82F- OB/GYN
Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, W.C. Keettel Chair
What is your hometown? Sterling, Illinois When did you join the University of Iowa Faculty? I joined full time in 1999, but have taught part time since 1984. How/When did you become interested in science and medicine? I found an early interest as a Boy Scout doing First Aid contests. I originally planned to be an orthodontist, but a college chemistry professor told me, “Your grades are really good. You should be a physician.” And I said, “OK!” And that was that, in all of 30 seconds. What interested you to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynecology? I had a number of areas in medicine in which I was interested but the year I spent in Vietnam (1968-69) changed my outlook and I wanted to make patients happy and do something life affirming. The war made me a feminist in that I thought women, as a group, would be less likely to sacrifice their children in needless battle. I later subspecialized in reproductive endocrinology because of its fascinating complexity. I have never felt more responsible in my life than when I am doing an in vitro fertilization embryo transfer.
