Curran studied with Elliott Carter at Yale in the early 1960's and in 1966 co-founded the legendary Music Elettronica Viva with Richard Teitelbaum and Frederic Rzewski. He has composed for the Ursula Oppens, and is a close collaborator with the Trisha Brown Dance Company. He is a guest faculty member at the prestigious Mills College and has recordings available on the New Albian label. William Winant, one of the world's leading avant-garde percussionist, has recorded with John Cage, Morton Feldman, John Zorn, Lou Harrison and Peter Garland, performed with Pierre Boulez, Kronos Quartet, Steve Reich and Naked City, and is a member of the Abel-Steinberg-Winant Trio.
