Hi Rodrigo,
It is important that you use the required signatures for Actions and ActionListeners. Returning null is ok to stay on the page.

Reputation Power: 2 Checking the existence of a textfile? Hello there!
I'm trying to realize some sort of dynamic dialogue Flash movie, which loads texts if the user asks a displayed person about a certain keyword. Flash then tries to load the textfile with that keyword in the character's folder from the server - e.g. "weather.txt" when you ask a person about the weather. This all works already perfectly well.
Only problem is: I don't know how I can trap an error properly. The file "weather.txt" doesn't necessarily need to be on the server. In that case (if the character doesn't have to say anything about that keyword), I'd like to display a message saying something like "I don't know anything about that.")

I've gone thru your email and you have got the sequence spot on. So am I right in thinking that I now need to interpret you pseudocode into a proper procedure? If so could you give me a few pointers there. I'm a newbie at VBA (as you probably guessed) and the other excuse I've got is that at my ripe old age of 60 the white cells aren't as active as they used to be. For instance do I have to declare the DONE and AGAIN statements first?
Thanks again TC

Dynamic Drive Forums General Coding JavaScript PDA View Full Version : Coding Challenge: Change innerText without changing its style. 07-20-2006, 04:05 AM How can we change some element's innerText without changing the innerText's style?
I need to do this:
There's a div on the page. Inside the div, there's just text, but with different fonts. E.g. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbbbbccccccccccccc
And there's a input field, shows the content of the div. A user can change the stuff inside the input field then the div will change accordingly. Say if someone replace all the a's with d's, the div will appear as:
ddddddddddddddbbbbbbbbbbccccccccccccc
How can I make this happen? 07-20-2006, 06:13 AM Only change the text. Twey 07-20-2006, 12:12 PM Don't use innerText, it only exists in IE. 07-20-2006, 05:17 PM I didn't think there was such a thing as innerText. Anyways, my suggestion should work, if you set a variable to the innerHTML of the overall containing element, then work whatever changes you wish upon it as a variable, and then assign it as the overall containing element's innerHTML. Loading external CSS files
You can define styles in an external CSS file and then load that file into a style sheet object. The styles defined in the CSS file are added to the style sheet object. To load an external CSS file, you use the method of the TextField.StyleSheet class. To determine when the CSS file has finished loading, use the style sheet object's onLoad event handler. In the following example, you create and load an external CSS file and use the
To load an external style sheet:

Save the FLA file to the same directory that contains styles.css. You should see the names of the two styles in the Output panel: .bodyText,.headline

This set of LabView Virtual Instruments (VI:s) resembles an instrument driver in the sense, that it is used like a driver. It facilitates remote control of both the AVS-47B and TS-530A at no extra cost. We have tried to keep the number of VI:s small, not fulfilling all the requirements that National Instruments have set forth for an "Instrument Driver". These VI:s have been written on an XP Pro (Sp2) computer and they were saved in LabView 7.1 format. You require, in addition to LabView 7.1., also a free COM1: or COM2: port at a PC-standard address and with full handshaking capability. These programs are based on using the VISA property node of the selected serial port. Download
You may want to verify that the VISA property node method works on your computer before installing the Set of VI:s. Read the short instructions on how to do this.

... articles Introduction In Pascal, as opposed to most other high level programming languages, data structures are so important, that they get special attention to the compiler. Niklaus Wirth decided to make the same stringent checking of data as other languages make with the code (syntax) only. Most upgraders from other languages feel that the Pascal type checking reduced their freedom in using data structures, but this is not true. Pascal only needs that the programmer writes the source code according to stringent rules, declaring the data structures thoroughly before using them.
The TYPE declaration of Arrays. Data can be single numbers or strings, but often they are defined as structures (ASM86 nomenclature), as records and arrays. This is not the location where the particular structures are explained.
