PageRank Toolbar Widget For Macintosh
One thing I've wanted for awhile is a Google Toolbar for Macintosh (mostly because I want to see the PageRank of a site I'm browsing). So anyway, to make a long story short, I hacked together a Konfabulator widget that monitors what page is active in Safari and shows you the PageRank. That's about it... Was really made for myself, but figured others could use it. So if you want to use it, you need to install Yahoo! Widgets and you need to throw my PageRank widget into your Widgets folder. Some things to note:
  • Requires Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
  • Internally it's built with JavaScript, PHP and AppleScript
  • I converted the PHP version of the checksum algorithm that has been floating around to JavaScript
  • Works for HTTP sites, does not work (intentionally) for HTTPS, FTP, etc.
  • I'm not affiliated with Google, and Google owns all their respective trademarks
