        1.0 Introduction
In this Web page, I have tried to capture the current state of the market for XML database products. These are gathered from Web sites, product reviews, XML webzines, XML resource guides, and email from product users and developers.
        1.1 XML and Databases
Although complete description of how to use XML with databases is beyond the scope of this page (see instead " XML and Databases "), a brief review will help you choose what product is right for you. XML documents fall into two broad categories: data-centric and document-centric . Data-centric documents are those where XML is used as a data transport. They include sales orders, patient records, and scientific data. Their physical structure the order of sibling elements, whether data is stored in attributes or PCDATA-only elements, whether entities are used is often unimportant. A special case of data-centric documents is dynamic Web pages, such as online catalogs and address lists, which are constructed from known, regular sets of data. Document-centric documents are those in which XML is used for its SGML-like capabilities, such as in user's manuals, static Web pages, and marketing brochures. They are characterized by irregular structure and mixed content and their physical structure is important.

    What are Sitemaps?
Sitemaps are an easy way for webmasters to inform search engines about pages on their sites that are available for crawling. In its simplest form, a Sitemap is an XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL (when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is, relative to other URLs in the site) so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site. Web crawlers usually discover pages from links within the site and from other sites. Sitemaps supplement this data to allow crawlers that support Sitemaps to pick up all URLs in the Sitemap and learn about those URLs using the associated metadata. Using the Sitemap protocol does not guarantee that web pages are included in search engines, but provides hints for web crawlers to do a better job of crawling your site.

Importance of a UDDI based Service Registry
    Author : vivek raut
A Service Registry is a key component in defining and enforcing SOA Governance. It should be UDDI v-3 compliant (for complete UDDI specification, please visit UDDI Version 3.0.2 ) and provide a foundation for the governance and lifecycle management of Business Services. The Registry should provide with what is needed to obtain enterprise-wide insight, control and economic leverage of organization's business and service artifacts. Much more than just a UDDI registry, the Registry should capture and make discoverable business service descriptions into a centrally managed, reliable and searchable location, becoming the system of record for your business services. For a particular Business Service to gain visibility and value it is not only important to have all the necessary information appearing in the Business Service Registry but a meaningful representation of this information is also vital. It should be ensured that all the information artifacts describing the service are published in a well-defined manner. This is of paramount importance as there may be ‘n’ number of artifacts to be published.
