Hello, Gentle Blog Reader/Poster/Lurker. I'm Rick Shangle, your host and humble servant, and I welcome you to our blog here on ittoolbox.com. Hello, Gentle Blog Reader/Poster/Lurker. I'm Rick Shangle, your host and humble servant, and I welcome you to our blog here on ittoolbox.com. One of my first mentors in this field of storage and data management, Kevin Kessler, never traveled anywhere without his toolbox. Now, thanks to the magic of the World Wide Web, you need never travel without your IT Toolbox, either. We currently live in a very special age, and great days!
My areas of expertise are primary storage (aka "disk"), data protection (aka "backup and recovery", "clustering", "replication") and storage management (aka "making it practically work" and "a bunch of other stuff the vendors are talking about a lot these days"). I've also worked with stuff called "SAN" and "NAS", whatever that is; sometimes there seems to be confusion surrounding that.

Bohr, Niels 1885-1962, Danish physicist and one of the foremost scientists in modern physics. He was professor of theoretical physics at the Univ. of Copenhagen and was later director of its Institute for Theoretical Physics, which he helped to found. Bohr was awarded the 1922 Nobel Prize in physics for his work on atomic structure. Classical theory had been unable to explain the stability of the nuclear model of the Atom , but Bohr solved the problem by postulating that Electron s move in restricted orbits around the atom's nucleus and explaining how the atom emits and absorbs Energy . He thus combined the Quantum Theory with this concept of atomic structure. The element Nielsbohrium was named in his honor (see Chemical Elements

Bohr was born in Copenhagen, the son of a physiology professor, and was educated at the University of Copenhagen, where he earned his doctorate in 1911. That same year he went to Cambridge, England, to study nuclear physics under British physicist Sir Joseph John Thomson , but he soon moved to Manchester to work with another British physicist, Ernest Rutherford Bohr’s theory of atomic structure ( see Quantum Theory ), for which he received the Nobel Prize in physics in 1922, was published in papers between 1913 and 1915. His work drew on Rutherford’s nuclear model of the atom, in which the atom is seen as a compact nucleus surrounded by a swarm of much lighter electrons ( see Atom ). Bohr’s atomic model made use of quantum theory and the Planck constant (the ratio between quantum size and radiation frequency). The model posits that an atom emits electromagnetic radiation only when an electron in the atom jumps from one quantum level to another. This model contributed enormously to future developments of theoretical atomic physics.

Science PDA View Full Version : Was Albert Einstein a Historical Fraud? Post Reply Create New Thread 01-03-07, 12:30 AM The only two reasons Albert Einstein has been portrayed as the poster child for Physics, Genius, and High Intelligence is because he was Jewish and most of the mass media (TV stations, news companies, newspapers, radio stations, magazines, book publishing companies, etc.) have been owned by Jews. The gentile Niels Bohr formulated quantum mechanics, but no one would recognize that name except for Physics majors. So, the only reason Einstein has developed such a big name for himself is extreme nepotism:
Was Albert Einstein a hoax?
Articles have been appearing all over the Internet asserting that Albert Einstein was a hoax. I have always been troubled by the thought that any one man, regardless of how brilliant or exceptional, could be head and shoulders above all of the other men of his time. Since I have long doubted that Albert Einstein could possibly be the greatest genius that he is made out to be, I find the theory interesting. I have also been wondering why Einstein became so famous, whereas other great scientists remained virtually unknown.
The basic idea is this: Einstein was a poor student, of average ability. He even failed seventh grade math. There was nothing exceptional about his ability or accomplishments, until he got a job as a low level clerk in the patent office in Bern, Switzerland.

Or: Well, That's Clever One of the greatest minds of the 20th Century , this Danish scientist's nameNiels Henrik David Bohr, in fullis listed among such other giants as Einstein Fermi Rutherford , and perhaps most controversially, Werner Heisenberg For those of us that aren't physicists , the finer details of Bohr 's contributions to the understanding of physics and the universe go parading over our heads like so many free electrons ; but his work was essential to the development of the atomic model, the beginnings of quantum theory , and the atom bomb so much so, that he is often referred to as ' the Father of modern physics And he had quite the life. Youth Niels was born of excellent stock, and had the sort of family in which being a genius wasn't a liability
