Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin was born in Cairo and educated at Somerville College, University of Oxford . In 1960 she was named a research professor of the Royal Society. Articolo Trova nell'articolo Anteprima di stampa Invia Multimedia 1 elemento Hodgkin, Dorothy Crowfoot (Il Cairo 1910 – Ilmington, Warwickshire 1994), chimico britannico, nota soprattutto per aver impiegato la diffrazione dei raggi X per studiare la struttura delle macromolecole. Dopo l’infanzia, trascorsa in Egitto e in Sudan (il padre era archeologo), studi² alle Universit  di Oxford e di Cambridge , e nel 1960 divenne membro della Royal Society . Nel 1964 le fu assegnato il premio Nobel per la chimica per aver determinato la struttura dei composti biochimici essenziali per combattere l' anemia perniciosa.
