OKAY! Let's start here...
So you're asking, what is PHYSICS ? Everything in the universe has an effect on every other thing. Physicists study those forces and effects. It is a science that relates to all other sciences: Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Astronomy, Meteorology, Engineering, etc. If you can name it, chances are physics is involved.
Everything on Earth, everything in our solar system, everything in our galaxy, and everything in the universe moves and exists because of forces. Physics studies those FORCES and interactions. Let's get started and look inside the

Abstract: The CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will start operation in Summer 2008. I will review the LHC main physics goals, and the status of the accelerator and of the ATLAS experiment, with emphasis on the presently-ongoing detector commissioning with cosmics runs. I will then discuss a few examples of physics measurements that can be performed with the very first data in 2008-2009. Circles of Light: The Mathematics of Rainbows
This is a series of explanations and experiments with light refraction, reflection, and characteristics of travel. It's straightforward and informative with helpful figures to go along with the text. All of it is nicely tied together in that, combined, the principles explain rainbows.
Computational Fluid Dynamics: Introduction to CFD
This document is intended to be an introduction to the science of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD for short). It is written for audiences with varying degrees of scientific background, from those with limited technical know-how, to readers with some scientific schooling, such as college students or professors, through practicing scientists and engineers in other fields.
