So, I ran to Qeynos Harbor and sought out a blacksmith and asked him for the hat.  He giggled and said that it was all a practical joke he had been playing on the poor halfer.  He would be willing to give me the hat if I would go get him a trick deck of cards from a gnome. Off in South Qeynos, I found the lady in question walking around on a balcony upstairs in one of the buildings.  She was pissed because she had been jilted by some dude on Erollisi Day.  She was willing to give me the glasses, but only if I tracked down the object of her bitterness and reclaimed a high dollar bottle of booze that she had give him. The rat died and I ran back to the coward in the South Qeynos bar.  He gave me the booze and I ran back to the jilted lady.  She gave me the glasses and it was back to the gnome.  She gave me the cards and I went back to the blacksmith.  He laughed at me for being willing to part with the card deck for a worthless hat, but made the switch.  I ran back to the halfling in Antonica and gave him the hat.

" Gestalt Therapy Training Now gestalt therapy is moving to further elaborate and refine these innovations. Regardless of label, the principles of existential dialogue, the use of direct phenomenological experience for both patient and therapist, the trust of organismic self-regulation, the emphasis on experimentation and awareness, the paradoxical theory of change and close attention to the contact between the therapist and the patient all form a model of good psychotherapy that will continue to be used by gestalt therapists and others. Our particular approach to gestalt therapy continues to evolve, with more and more gestalt therapists from around the world contributing their own insights. Our training focuses on contemporary relational perspectives in gestalt therapy. We emphasize training in working with the nuances of emotional process, therapist-patient interaction, enduring relational themes, and the developmental process of psychotherapy. Relational gestalt therapy theory is taught systematically and is interwoven into the experiential part of the program. Overview of Programs Our objective is to support trainees to develop skills and competency in gestalt therapy theory and practice. We strive to integrate relational gestalt therapy principles with the unique personal style of each participant and facilitate the building of a supportive learning community. Trainees are placed in groups of 7 to 10 members who are encouraged to use the support and commitment of cohorts to identify potential areas of growth and create opportunities to experiment both in the training and in practice settings. We are not interested in imparting a particular style of therapy or a restrictive method for practice. Our focus is in helping each trainee understand and develop gestalt therapy theory to be used as a support for his/her specific talents, style, and areas of interest and responsibility.

It does not only assure that our intention will be understood correctly by the viewers, but it also helps us to create a dynamic design. Gestalt is the German word for "form," and as it applied in gestalt psychology it means "unified whole" or " configuration." The essential point of gestalt is that in perception the whole is different from the sum of its parts. An Introductory Question When I first conceived the plan of writing this book I guessed, though I did not know, how much effort it would cost to carry it out, and what demands it would put on a potential reader. And I doubted, not rhetorically but very honestly and sincerely, whether such labour on the part of the author and the reader was justified. I was not so much troubled by the idea of writing another book on psychology in addition to the many books which have appeared during the last ten years, as by the idea of writing a book on psychology. Writing a book for publication is a social act. Is one justified in demanding co-operation of society for such an enterprise? What good can society, or a small fraction of it, at best derive from it? I tried to give an answer to this question, and when now, after having completed the book, I return to this first chapter, I find that the answer which then gave me sufficient courage to start on my long journey, has stayed with me to the end. I believed I had found a reason why a book on psychology might do some good. Psychology has split up into so many branches and schools, either ignoring or fighting each other, that even an outsider may have the impression - surely strengthened by the publications. "Psychologies of 1925" and "Psychologies of 1930" - that the plural "psychologies" should be substituted for the singular.
