Adam on Spear The idea that the dominance of Lilith-based life on Earth was determined by the outcome of a primordial battle that took place between Lilith and Adam (with the name referring to the battle itself, as well). Now, this made perfect sense at the time. We know that Lilith is essentially an imposter on Earth, whose Black Moon collided into the planet (= First Impact) after Adam's own arrival, and that, obviously, the "true successors from the lost White Moon" (Adam's offspring) got the short end of the stick. The show contains an image of Adam being exhumated (see figure), wherein the tines of the Spear of Longinus are visible emerging from her back i.e., she's skewered on it and Shin-seiki offered, way back, that Lilith is the one who did the skewering

Radioactive waste
Radioactive waste is waste type containing radioactive chemical elements that does not have a practical purpose. See also: It is sometimes the product of a nuclear process, such as nuclear fission. The majority of radioactive waste is "low-level waste", meaning it has low levels of radioactivity per mass or volume. This type of waste often consists of items such as used protective clothing, which is only slightly contaminated but still dangerous in case of radioactive contamination of a human body through ingestion, inhalation, absorption, or injection. Waste from the front end of the nuclear fuel cycle is usually alpha emitting waste from the extraction of uranium. It often contains radium and its decay products. The back end of the nuclear fuel cycle, mostly spent fuel rods, often contains fission products that emit beta and gamma radiation, and may contain actinides that emit alpha particles, such as uranium-234, neptunium-237, plutonium-238 and americium-241, and even sometimes some neutron emitters such as Cf. Industrial source waste can contain alpha, beta, neutron or gamma emitters.

Sources of waste
NORM (naturally occurring radioactive material)
Processing of substances containing natural radioactivity, this is often known as NORM. Much of this waste is alpha particles emitting matter from the decay chains of uranium and thorium.
Coal
Coal contains a small amount of radioactive nuclides, such as uranium and thorium, but it is less than the average concentration of those elements in the Earth's crust. They become more concentrated in the fly ash because they do not burn well. However, the radioactivity of fly ash is still very low. It is about the same as black shale and is less than phosphate rocks, but is more of a concern because a small amount of the fly ash ends up in the atmosphere where it can be inhaled.
Oil and gas
Residues from the oil and gas industry often contain radium and its daughters. The sulphate scale from an oil well can be very radium rich, while the water, oil and gas from a well often contains radon. The radon decays to form solid radioisotopes which form coatings on the inside of pipework. In an oil processing plant the area of the plant where propane is processed is often one of the more contaminated areas of the plant as radon has a similar boiling point as propane.

Radioactive Waste Disposal Fact Sheet
FACT SHEET #13 March 2004 Revision: Sixth NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY PROCEDURE FOR DISPOSAL OF LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE
  • DEFINITION. Low-level radioactive wastes (LLRW) have been typically defined more by what they are not than what they are. The Federal definition for LLRW is: Radioactive material that
    • is neither high-level waste, nor spent nuclear fuel, nor by-product material as defined in section 11(e)(2) of the U.S. Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, 42 U.S.C. s.2014(e); is classified by the Federal Government as low-level radioactive waste, but not including waste which remains a Federal responsibility, as designated in s.3(b) of the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Policy Act, as amended, 42 U.S.C./ s2021c(b), as in effect as of December 8, 1987. For waste generated at Northeastern University this definition can be simplified by breaking down LLRW into four categories which include: Liquid Scintillation Fluids Aqueous Materials Solid Materials Animal Carcasses These materials become LLRW whenever they contain, come in contact with, or become contaminated with radioactive materials.
