Communications, the dictionary definition of communications is, ‘Communication is a process that allows organisms to exchange information by several methods. Communication requires that all parties understand a common language that is exchanged. There are auditory means, such as speaking or singing, and nonverbal, physical means, such as body language, sign language, paralanguage, touch, eye contact, or the use of writing. Communication is defined as a process by which we assign and convey meaning in an attempt to create shared understanding. This process requires a vast repertoire of skills in intrapersonal and interpersonal processing, listening, observing, speaking, questioning, analyzing, and evaluating. Use of these processes is developmental and transfers to all areas of life: home, school, community, work, and beyond. It is through communication that collaboration and cooperation occur.

No one would talk much in society if they knew how often they misunderstood others. - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe Many of the problems that occur in a organization are the direct result of people failing to communicate. Faulty communication causes the most problems. It leads to confusion and can cause a good plan to fail. Communication is the exchange and flow of information and ideas from one person to another. It involves a sender transmitting an idea to a receiver. Effective communication occurs only if the receiver understands the exact information or idea that the sender intended to transmit. Studying the communication process is important because you coach, coordinate, counsel, evaluate, and supervise through this process. It is the chain of understanding that integrates the members of an organization from top to bottom, bottom to top, and side to side.

The Journal features leading edge inquiry that cuts across academic boundaries to focus on international, intercultural, as well as indigenous communication issues. A nation-state should not necessarily be synonymous with a single culture as nation-states might be more productively viewed as comprising multiple cultures, nor should a culture be thought of as bounded by national boundaries, as cultures may cross the boundaries of multiple nation-states. 3d A model for learning and improvement
All learning and improvement begins with action with doing. For example, as a child you touch a hot stove.
Action leads to discovery; in this case, the discovery that the action led to pain, burning, discomfort.
Based on this discovery you design new ways of interacting with your environment.
Based on your design you do things differently. Over time this leads you closer and closer to your ideal relationship with your surroundings.
The entire process is called successive approximation.
