Welcome to the Dept. of Economics The Department of Economics has a worldwide reputation for outstanding teaching and research. Students have unusual access to the faculty, and nearly all faculty members teach undergraduates. There are approximately 50 full-time economics faculty members including department members with joint appointments in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Many members of the department have received public recognition for their work. Several have important posts in the American Economic Association and Econometric Society, and others have held high economic policy positions in government. The faculty also serve as editors of major academic publications and consultants to business, governments, and international organizations. The Department welcomes new faculty members in 2007-08.

Be sure to attach the new version. It may take up to a week before I can update your paper and I will reply to your email when the update is done. I can only replace papers on EconWPA - RePEc references will have wuwpxx - where xx is a two letter designation of the area. Please do not ask me to replace other papers - I can not do that. Data Sets EconWPA began as a conversation between Bob Parks and Larry Blume on January 28, 1993. I located Paul Ginsparg's archive (then xxx.lanl.gov) and he graciously installed his software on a Sun Sparc system which was supporting the department of economics email and computation. EconWPA began accepting papers July 1, 1993 and had ftp, email, gopher and web interfaces. The web interface for submissions was engineered into existence in July 1995. A complete and catastrophic machine failure in 1999 caused the loss of EconWPA's email new paper announcment service at which time there were over 15,000 subscriptions with over 8,000 unique email addresses.

EPA contributes by finding ways to make environmental programs cost-effective, and by conducting and supervising research on economic analysis methods and incentives related to environmental issues, and by conducting economic analyses of Agency rules. EPA also helps by directly funding some environmental improvements. A number of EPA offices support state, local, and tribal projects through direct grants or funding for programs like State Clean Water Revolving Funds, Brownfields and other grants.
