Tackling Magnuson
On January 12, 2007, President George W. Bush signed into law the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Reauthorization Act of 2006. The reauthorization, finalized in the waning days of the 109th Congress, was the first time that comprehensive revisions to marine fisheries management were made in more than a decade. Most importantly, the bill will make positive changes for recreational saltwater anglers and included all of the SALT Principles recommended by the Angling 4 Oceans coalition. Find out more about the SALT Principles and the Magnuson-Stevens Act.

TEA TREE GULLY ANGLING CLUB The one and only Tea Tree Gully Angling Club homepage!!!!! The Tea Tree Gully Angling Club was founded by a keen group of metropolitan Adelaide fishermen in 1975. Since then it has grown to become a very successful and well respected fishing club. Our members have taken out various honours at club, state and even national level. We are affiliated with the S.A.P.C (South Australian Piscatorial Council) and the A.A.A (Australian Anglers Association). Club members both past and present hold various state record fish captures and some national records to. By joining an angling club near you it is possible to learn a lot of the secrets to fishing in a short space of time.
WHERE DO WE MEET AND FISH?
We meet at the girl guides hall in Whinnen Street, St Agnes. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month. We fish in lots of areas around the state from the Yorke Peninsula to the South East. We fish the inland waters of the River Murray and it's tributaries as well. So the club caters for both salt and freshwater angling. We mainly fish off the shore, rocks or jetties so you need not own a boat.

Alaska Fly Fishing Mentorship Home As sport anglers, each of us should develop a code of ethics which go beyond the regulations. Our angling ethics are unwritten rules we use to define our behavior in the outdoors. As we fish with other anglers and learn from them, our ethics become a code of responsibility toward nature and toward other anglers. The Ethical Angler Our angling ethics are a gift we give ourselves. By obeying a code of conduct each time we go fishing, we learn what is important to us and shape whom we become. Where do we learn this code? From other anglers along the way.
MY FIRST TROUT
When I was ten I dreamed of catching a trout. I came from a family of non-anglers but I lived to fish. We lived just up the road from my grandparent's farm in the Connecticut River Valley. The farm had been in the family for hundreds of years. We were what the locals called "Swamp Yankees", the scion of the original English farmers who had settled the area in the 1600s. No one else fished in my family. Even so, as with all true swamp yankees, we never threw out anything either, so there was a corner of my grandfather's gun room which held fishing poles, reels and hooks. Broken cane rods tangled their lines with rusted hooks poking from gobs of feather and dried worms. I found a pre-World War II bakelite (pre-plastic plastic) bait casting reel with what must have been thirty feet of fifty-pound woven line and a stout metal rod in the pile. I used this tackle to fish in the local farm-polluted creek and a neighbor's stock pond for bluegills and catfish.

This is not the best shot of the perfect 18lb fish I caught October 8th 2005 at 1st street, Benicia CA at 6:14 p.m. on a warm Indian summer afternoon. I am a regular at 1st street on the Weekends during the Salmon Run. I was the only one who landed a fish from 3 - 7 p.m. the Men kept loosing them, or the seal stole them. All I heard was Cheers from the crowd. It was awesome.

Lewiston, Idaho, took the No. 2 spot for steelhead fishing and terrific upland bird hunting. Wyoming took two spots in the top 10 with Sheridan, Wyo., at No. 3 and Cody, Wyo., claiming No. 4. Legendary trout fishing, high-country elk, and trophy mule deer secured the No. 5 spot for Pocatello, Idaho. Lewistown, at No. 6, offers million-dollar views on a blue-collar budget and a full spectrum of hunting opportunities, the magazine said.
