  • Don't use "Pre-made" cheer tracks for your routine music. This is always a bad idea. Other teams will have the same music.... and it will not fit your routine.
Trying to do your own mix. Don't spend a hundred hours trying to learn how to make your music sound good. Leave it to the professionals and focus on what you do best!
Using your local "DJ" that knows absolutely nothing about cheer to make your mix.... This is a common mistake that many coaches make. Local DJs are clueless about cheer music. We hear at least one horror story per week about how a local DJ failed to deliver a decent mix. Themes: The problem with themes is that in order to make them work, you end up throwing songs together that should

    MVC Annual Banquet

    Hello Minnesota Vikings Fans!
One of the MVC’s absolute favorite things about the month of February - outside from the Super bowl- is the annual Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader Banquet. The MVC Banquet provides the team with a wonderful opportunity to catch up with each other during the off-season and recap the season. The 2008 banquet was one to remember; not only did we celebrate the team’s successes, but we were able to commend our Head Coach Tami on 10 years of remarkable leadership.
This year, the banquet was sponsored the Minneapolis North Crowne Plaza Hotel, and we are very grateful to them for their excellent cuisine and service. At the beginning of the night, the MVC assembled to enjoy dinner with one another, and watch the Year End Video - graciously provided by Chad Ryburn and Ted Kopacek. There were special presentations by each of our 5 small teams, our Head Coach Tami, the lovely and talented MVC staff, and the team captains. It was great to reflect on year that included more than 350 appearances in the Minnesota community, the successful launch of the A* Team and the All Star programs, and countless other memories on and off the field. Our 2007 Pro Bowl Representative and 3rd Captain Laura also inspired us by sharing her experiences in Hawaii. We typically end the night with awards; congratulations to the following women on their outstanding achievements on the team and in the community:

Forget about cheer camps and competitions that all look the same. Instead, think Huddle Up Leadership Programs that touch each and every cheerleader, coach, and staffer in a very personal way. The American Cheerleaders Association signals something more for cheer camps and competitive competitions. While offering all of the basics, ACA is bringing something new with its powerful mission aiming at the heart of cheerleading. ACA is all about relationships and personal service. The incredible Huddle Up Leadership Program is what makes ACA camps stand out from the rest. Building relationships and leaders is possible because ACA has one of the lowest student to staff ratios, which guarantees personalized attention to each squad. ACA’s power comes from the mission to unite cheerleaders and their coaches. Lance Wagers founded ACA in 1998 along with a group of veteran leaders in the cheerleading industry with one goal – to develop camps and competitions that go beyond ribbons and trophies to touch the very heart of each participant. Lance is well known in the industry, as he has served at every level from President of a national organization to running camps all over the world, to cheering on the side lines for his own team. His unique perspective is what makes ACA so powerful and explains the very loyal following who know they can expect the best! ACA founders learned from experience how to lead a cheer squad to being not only great cheerleaders but leaders for life. The ACA staff is a family that is committed to serving customers. Don’t be surprised when you call and Lance or one of the vice presidents answers the phone!
