Welcome to Pal-O-Mine Equestrian
Pal-O-Mine Equestrian is a non-profit 501(c)(3) therapeutic horseback riding program dedicated to teaching horseback riding to individuals with disabilities.
Therapeutic horseback riding brings about remarkable benefits to its riders through stretching both mind and muscles. Improvements in posture, balance, coordination, muscle tone, confidence and self-worth are amazing. Spastic muscles relax and muscles not ordinarily used are challenged. For someone who can't walk, see, communicate or succeed at the simplest tasks, riding a horse allows them to experience a new sense of freedom; they are transported to where dreams come true and spirits soar.
Seen in Newsday Equine-Assisted Therapy Makes Sense; Some LI therapists say that the intuitive horse provides a window into ourselves. Click here to read article and see the video. Free Spirit Counseling - an EAGALA certified Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program. EAP incorporates horses as a tool for emotional growth and learning. It is a collaborative effort between a licensed therapist and a horse professional working with clients to address treatment goals. Clients include those with mental illness, substance abuse issues, eating disorders and at risk youth. Non-verbal communication, creative thinking, problem-solving, leadership, responsibility, teamwork, relationships, confidence, and attitude are several examples of the tools utilized and developed by EAP. For more information please contact Lisa Gatti at Pal-O-Mine or Rosemary Manginelli, MSW: (516) 457-7293.

About US The Pocono Equestrian Center committed to helping children and youth who are either underprivileged, at-risk, have a serious illness, learning disabilities, and/or autism. We believe they can gain skills leading to fuller, more productive lives through close interaction with rescued and/or rehabilitated horses. The Pocono Equestrian Center was founded February 2003, on the conviction that children with special needs can interact with horses in a way that encourages emotional bonding and promotes self-esteem. We combined a life-long love for horses with programs designed to teach the children how to handle our animals in a safe and loving manner. Emotionally, we need to nurture our children so they can grow up to be a strong part of our communities. Riding
The course was 6 laps around the track (4.5 miles), and there were separate races for full-grown horses and foals. Jockeys rode without stirrups. Only wealthy people could afford to pay for the training, equipment, and feed of both the driver (or jockey) and the horses. As a result, the owner received the olive wreath of victory instead of the driver or jockey.

76. SETC - Home
The SETC is a conference for equestrian trails users and those who must manage and maintain these equestrian trails, both publicly and privately owned.
http://www.southeasternequestriantrails.com/
Print Flyer South Carolina began this series of conferences on trails back in 1998 under the direction of Dr. Gene Wood of Clemson University. Since then it has grown into the event that it has become today with over 200 participants from 13 states. The South Carolina Horsemen's Council is proud to be hosting this event in our state in 2008.
The SETC is a conference for equestrian trails users and those who must manage and maintain these equestrian trails, both publicly and privately owned. These conferences serve to educate us on how to build, sustain, and improve our trails systems for equestrian usage. We are also able to address issues or conflicts between users and trails managers so that we can work on ways to resolve these issues. These conferences allow us to network and share solutions to many of the trails related problems facing all of us today and allow us to lay the foundation for the availability of good trails systems for generations to come. We encourage all equestrians and trails managers to attend the upcoming conference to exchange information and ideas with others who have similar interests.
The event in 2008, promises to be one of interest to equestrians, public land managers, and private land owners. It will focus on how to enhance and sustain this form of outdoor recreation for current and future equestrians. Not only will this conference be informative on equestrian trails, but the coastal resort area of Charleston provides numerous opportunities for recreational, entertainment, and historical pursuits for the entire family.
