Aspen spring: mother of all mud seasons?

ASPEN — Colorado’s mountains have been transformed, sculpted by an undulating layer of snow so deep that trees lose their height and jagged contours disappear beneath a billowing blanket of white.

Hanging Lake worth wintertime visit

GLENWOOD SPRINGS — Presidents Day weekend is prime time for ski vacationers, which made it the ideal time to do something else, in my opinion. Colorado National Monument visitation up GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The breathtaking Colorado National Monument — a land of canyons and rocky spires stretching from Grand Junction to near Fruita on the far western edge of the state — is gaining notice at a record-breaking pace. Dog-gone tricky on Thompson Creek CARBONDALE — Thompson Creek was a great choice for a weekend hike, but for what turned out to be a couple of unanticipated hurdles. On the trail: Waiting for winter They looked almost like the tracks of a telemark boot, or maybe a ski touring boot, in the snow.

Utah Hiking and Backpacking
We are in the process of creating a database of hiking trails, including information, maps and photos. You can watch it grow. Right now we're making good progress on Zion Park and the Moab area The best way to experience the diverse landscapes of Utah is by walking through them. Utah has some very remote areas that are accessible only to serious backpackers, but routes to other stunningly beautiful scenes are merely "pleasant walks." You'll find that once you get off the beaten path on foot, or even on horseback , Utah's mountains and deserts will "open up" for you in unexpected ways. There are five prominent hiking regions. Click on a link below to learn about these regions and some of the best trails within each region. The Utah section of the Great Western Trail provides great opportunities for hiking, snowmobiling, ATVing and other activities. It runs north/south through the center of the state. Some of Utah's bike trails are also great for hiking.

San Luis Obispo: Possible place to visit or move to
by Jamie Rhein Mar 29th 2008 @ 1:00PM A friend and I were talking today about what we're up to. She's up to traveling to California during the end of April with her boyfriend to look for a place to live one day. They're starting in San Diego and heading up the coast. They don't know exactly where they want to live so I threw out San Luis Obispo as a possibility. I've never been there, but have heard great things. One of my oldest friends, who does lives there part time, loves the place. He's always saying I should visit. My friend who is currently seeking out her future asked me if there are nature related activities in the area. "Oh, I'm sure of it," I said, then followed with, "I'll check." Now, I've checked. San Luis Obispo does indeed have nature type things. It's the beginning of the Big Sur coastline. The Parks and Recreation department looks extensive. Mountains for hiking are close by. Along with nature, there are history and the arts. The
