var javascript_version = 1.0; About News Recruits Crew Info ... Support Why do rowers row? When asked, most rowers say that they value the camaraderie and being part of the rowing community. Many say that they enjoy the physical activity, the competition, and being out on the water, in close contact with nature. Many alumni say that rowing was their greatest experience at the University. Some say that the light in the morning, the mist in the air, the synchronization of the oars and the swish of the water against the hull is a spiritual experience. Whatever the reason, most rowers agree that rowing is excellent training for the body, the mind and the spirit ... and excellent preparation for life. It is our mission at the Virginia Rowing Association (VRA) to provide the highest quality coaching, facilities, and equipment to the men's crews. VRA Announces Class Giving Campaign On Alumni Day 2007, the Virginia Rowing Association announced a year-long giving campaign that it hopes will secure the future of Virginia Men’s Rowing. What’s the Goal?
