USDAA Courses includes a snooker course. Super Q Table quick reference for how many Super Qs will be awarded. Snooker is a very fun course to plan and run. It tests the control and send-away ability of the team. The course is divided into an opening and closing. Handlers are free to create their opening in a manner that they feel will give them the most points before proceeding through the closing which is designated 1 through 7. The "Reds" used in the opening are worth 1 point each. A SCT is set in which the point accumulation period ends for the class, and 37 points is required to qualify. The highest points accumulated in the fastest time wins. To begin planning, time the length of time it takes to perform the closing sequence. This gives one an estimate of how much time is left over in order to work the opening. Generally the idea is to accumulate the most amount of points in the opening as possible and still complete the closing. In the opening think of the "reds" as a key to the door to complete one of the "colors", the numbered obstacles in the closing on course. Complete a red and you have earned the key which unlocks the door to go ahead and perform a color obstacle. If you fault in the opening, do a red. That's the easiest way to remember what you need to do to continue. When you have completed all of the reds, followed by a color, on course you may then proceed to the closing sequence which is numbered 1 through 7.

Snooker Rules - All Variations
Snooker is one of the most popular billiard games in the world and it encourages the player to exercise significant strategy and tactics skills. The rules of Snooker are somewhat more complex than Pool's, so if you are not familiar with this game, do take some time to read the following. We encourage you to print out these games rules for future reference.
Object of the Snooker game
One player must score a greater number of points than opponent. The winner of a game is the player who has the highest score, once all balls are pocketed.
How to play Snooker
The White Ball: For every variation of Snooker games the white ball is the ball which the cue has to hit. The white ball’s movement affects the results of the game. Snooker is played with red balls (whose quantity depends on the game variation), 6 colored balls and a white cue ball. Pocketing a red ball is worth 1 point; The points obtained on pocketing the colored balls are as follows:
  • Yellow – 2 points Green - 3 points Brown - 4 points Blue - 5 points Pink - 6 points Black - 7 points
While there are still red balls on the table, the ball a player should hit (and pocket) alternates between red balls and colored balls, until there are no more reds on the table.

We receive this question quite often and know there are many people who would like to know the difference. These tables are compared side by side below. For game rules of either just do an Internet search. Pool and Snooker are similar in appearance, yet quite different. The games played on each are also different. More skill is required to play snooker than pool since the table is larger, the pockets narrower, the pocket lead-in curved and the balls smaller. Pool is more common in the United States than snooker. Certain states have a concentration of snooker popularity including Colorado, deep South and the mid-West in the United States. Once a person plays snooker, they become better at pool since the accuracy is critical to snooker. Snooker is the game of choice in Canada, Great Britain, Europe, Middle East, Australia and India. For the most part snooker has become popular in countries where Great Britain has had Colonial interests. We are proud to offer our interchangeable rail designs for our pool and snooker table plans! So, if you only have room for one table, you can make two sets of rails for the same table. John Higgin and Mark Shelby were having the battle of their lives. They have been doing one-on-one for hours, 2nd day in a row, now. As a big part of the world intensively watched, most of Americans show little interest or awareness: typically. Higgins won a game; Shelby answered right back. The scores seesawed 13-10, 13-11, 14-11, 14-12, and 14-13! Higgins showed his tenacity. He won two frame closely and pulled away with a decisive win (129 to 1)! No one can stop that momentum. The 31st frame sealed the 2nd world title for Higgins. American heroes are those who can do things normal people can never dream of doing. Chinese heroes are more normal people who practiced to win, less those who were born with extraordinary talents and resources. The contrast is sharp in what sports they watch.

Comments: I love your comment about Chinese heroes being those who practice to win, rather than those born with unusual talents (or physical attributes, like being well over 2 meters tall!) This is why I love youth sports: they play as well as they practice, everyone plays, and those who make a team do well. Every now and then you see "the next" superstar in the larger American sports scene but mostly you see kids who want to just play
