The Ithaca Triathlon Club was formed in 2003 when a group of local enthusiastic athletes got together and decided to start a club where people of ranging abilities could find camaraderie and people with whom they could run, bike or swim. We are a diverse group of individuals from Ithaca and the surrounding area who share a common interest in multi-sport activities. The club is open to all those interested, with first time triathletes especially welcome. Our mission is to promote the educational pursuit of triathlon, general physical fitness, and the representation of the sport of triathlon within the community. The club is committed to strengthening and advancing the sport of triathlon. We further our mission by hosting group training activities, clinics, races and social events. In 2003, the Club organized its first triathlon, 1st Annual Cayuga Lake Triathlon, a Sprint distance event, receiving rave reviews from experienced and first time participants. Our triathlon welcomes individual and relay team participants. The 2nd Annual Cayuga Lake Triathlon added an Olympic distance race, in addition to the existing Sprint distance race, to better accommodate the needs of all levels of athletes.

If you would like to be added to the waiting list , please complete the Waiting List Registration Form at the link below. The entry fee for waitlist participants who get into the race will be for adults and for girls under 18 to cover the additional administrative costs associated with managing the list. USAT and Triathlon Club discounts will still be honored, however. You are not required to make payment when signing up for the waiting list ; only at the end of the registration process that you will complete if you get into the race will you be required to pay these new rates. The BTC was founded in January of 1997, and has been growing ever since. The goal of the BTC is to promote multisports (triathlon, duathlon, etc), and bring people together for training, racing, and fun. Whether you are a veteran of many races, or someone who is just thinking about trying one, this club is for you. We have members of all ages and skill levels, and the veterans are always eager to help out those that are new to the sport. The BTC is a non-profit organization, and contributes generously to various charities. During the Spring, Summer, and Fall months, the BTC organizes evening swim, bike, and run workouts, on a weekly basis. Many members also use the club e-mail list to get together for longer distance rides and runs on the weekends. In addition to organized workouts, the BTC also holds monthly meetings, sponsors a number of races, participates in numerous races and events, and has a year-end banquet.
