ज्ञानकोश: - The Indological Knowledgebase Wheelchair tennis is a sport for handicapped people which is played on regular tennis courts. All "pedestrian" variations of tennis are being played, i.e. same-sex doubles, mixed etc. The only rule that differs from non-wheelchair tennis is the one that concerns the number of bounces a ball may take before it must be played. Tennis Coaching
On Thursday 21st June the British Tennis Foundation lead a coaching afternoon for the patients at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre. They brought specialised tennis wheelchairs for our patients to try out and get a taste for the sport. Stuart Wilkinson (coach) lead the afternoon, teaching patients the skills required to play wheelchair tennis. Feedback from the patients involved was very positive and it is hoped we can arrange for this to happen regularly.
