Environmental Industry
Governments, research institutes and corporations are searching for ways to meet environmental regulations and guarantees by decreasing waste while maintaining production levels. By using ANSYS engineering simulation, in many cases, environmental issues can be predicted and compliance ensured during the design stage. For instance, pollutant plumes in both air and water can be simulated or river scour can be foreseen. In addition, products from ANSYS can assist in designing and improving equipment for emissions control, containment and treatment. For example ESPs, SCRs, SNCRs, pumps, clarifiers, storm overflows, reservoirs and a large variety of other tools can be optimized and structural integrity of containment vessels can be determined through engineering simulation.

Description
Environmental Pollution is an international journal that focuses on papers that report results from original research on the distribution and ecological effects of pollutants in air, water and soil environments and new techniques for their study and measurement. Findings from re-examination and interpretation of existing data are also included.
The editors are focusing on papers that provide new insights into environmental processes and or the effects of pollutants.
The editors discourage papers which describe results from routine surveys or routine monitoring programs, which are more local in interest than regional or global. Descriptions of a particular chemical in yet another situation are discouraged.

Day of the Tree
The Macedonian Government has named 12 March “Tree Day” and has organised a mass tree planting throughout the country. Last summer, the country was devastated by fires caused by the very high temperatures and dry climate. Large expanses of forest were destroyed. A number of intellectuals and singers have joined together in an initiative to promote the renewal of the country’s forests and the importance of nature protection. In one day, 2 million trees will be planted, one for each member of the population. Many people throughout the country will participate in the event, and the staff of the REC CO Macedonia will take part in the tree planting near Skopje.
Green Pack Junior steps out
The REC launched its new environmental curriculum for youngsters, the Green Pack Junior, grabbing the attention of scores of environmental ministers, UN officials and educators at the recently concluded Environment for Europe Conference in Belgrade.
