Something to think and pray about this week

But Jesus was never seventy. He never suffered the infirmities of age, stiff limbs, slow apprehension, failing memory, blunting of senses, tottering balance. The aging John Henry Newman wrote from this experience:
    Begin the Prayer

It might seem strange to pray at your computer, in front of a screen, especially if there are other people around you, or distracting noises. But God is everywhere, all around us, constantly reaching out to us, even in the most unlikely situations. When we know this, and with a bit of practice, we can pray anywhere! The following pages will guide you through a session of prayer, in six stages, including preparing your body and mind, and culminating in reflection on a scripture passage chosen specially for the day. The stages are: The Presence of God Freedom Consciousness The Word Conversation Conclusion Technical note Begin the Prayer Choose the day you want from the selection below Friday 28 March Saturday 29 March Sunday 30 March, Second Sunday of Easter

The NASA Space Shuttle Earth Observations Photography database of images is a national treasure. We are publishing these selected photos and related captions on the Internet to provide a glimpse of this national treasure to the public. This database was compiled by our staff to illustrate some very interesting Earth features and processes, including cities as seen by our Astronauts from space. Earth from Space provides several ways to search the selected images. Each image is available in three resolutions and includes cataloging data and a caption. However, this site contains only a small selection of the best of our Earth photography. The complete database of NASA's Earth imagery is available at the Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth , which contains 757,605 images (count updated 3/1/2008) The information contained in this collection is for informational purposes only and does not constitute official NASA positions or statements. We plan to update the database as new information becomes available.

In the 60’s, space exploration was an American obsession. But the growing reality of space has turned the romance to cynicism. We chart the path from then to now. We begin with Ann Druyan, widow of Carl Sagan, with a story about the Voyager expedition, true love, and golden record that travels through space. For a dose of reality, astrophysicist Neil de Grasse Tyson explains the Coepernican Principle and just how insignificant we are.
    Looking Up
Star gazing, it’s hard not to feel small...and lonely. Maybe that’s why it’s so irresistible to look out into all that darkness and see our own reflection staring us back, like Narcissus gazing into the pool. On this episode of Radio Lab, we reflect on our romance with, projections upon, and insignificance within space. We begin by joining some sky watchers at Fire Island to see what they see. Then, we take a trip to see Ann Druyan , one of the creators of the 1977 Golden Album included on the Voyager probes. We invited composer
