Is there some way to merge this with the article Riemann hypothesis KP CUN 06:26, 6 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I think that this should article should be moved to some other math hypothesis or theory. (e.g., "Pythagorean Theorem" appears to be wide open.) This article is good and the Riemann hypothesis is outstanding but I don't think they are compatible.

Riemann Hypothesis First published in Riemann's groundbreaking 1859 paper (Riemann 1859), the Riemann hypothesis is a deep mathematical conjecture which states that the nontrivial Riemann zeta function zeros , i.e., the values of other than , ... such that (where is the Riemann zeta function ) all lie on the " critical line " (where denotes the real part of A more general statement known as the generalized Riemann hypothesis conjectures that neither the Riemann zeta function nor any Dirichlet L-series has a zero with real part larger than 1/2. Legend holds that the copy of Riemann's collected works found in Hurwitz's library after his death would automatically fall open to the page on which the Riemann hypothesis was stated (Edwards 2001, p. ix). While it was long believed that Riemann's hypothesis was the result of deep intuition on the part of Riemann, an examination of his papers by C. L. Siegel showed that Riemann had made detailed numerical calculations of small zeros of the Riemann zeta function to several decimal digits (Granville 2002; Borwein and Borwein 2003, p. 68).

Riemann hypothesis: Encyclopedia II - Riemann hypothesis - Other consequences of the Riemann hypothesis The practical uses of the Riemann hypothesis include many propositions which are stated to be true under the Riemann hypothesis, and some which can be shown to be equivalent to the Riemann hypothesis. One is the rate of growth in the error term of the prime number theorem given above. Other formulations equivalent to the Riemann hypothesis involve the M¶bius function μ. The statement that the equation is valid for every s with real part greater than ½, with the sum on the right hand side converging, is equivalent to the Riemann hypothesis. From this w ...
