Extractions: Reply Shawn I usaully go up towards the mouth of the estuary in a southerly wind. I park next to the condominums Pilar and walk up the beach a hundred yards or so. Actually this summer I plan to try some launches over by the dolphinarium and do down winders to somewhere on San Francisco beach, perhaps La Posada. You can actually, kite a southerly at Algodones as well if you walk up the beach to the piece of land right at the point between algodones and la manga but in my experience the wind tends to be stronger at San Francisco in southerly's. bouy weather is actually calling for a light northwesterly tomorrow which means La Manga will probably be the best beach to go to. IN light North west wind La Manga can be much better than algodones plus you get some waves and a longer run and no wind shadow from Dear island.

They include: A detachable kite leash, depowering devices, quick-releases and Detachable harness lines. With Careful attention to the use of the "Safety System" the risk of rider injury is minimized and the degree of public safety is maximized. There are some variations but essentially the best system will be a "depowering" kite leash safety. That means that when you let go of the control bar, the kite stops instantly. This is an advantage after a wipeout or when a rider is disabled suddenly. Thoroughly understand your Safety System before you even think of launching your kite!! The use of a leash to the kite will prevent it from flying away when you drop the bar. The risk of not using a kite leash is your kite may put others at risk from injury from the loose kite. Leashes and other kite-to-rider connections should incorporate a safety system that depowers the kite. The leash must have a quick-release that the rider can easily detach in an emergency. Kite leashes can attach to the wrist with a Velcro cuff, or attach to the harness (wrist-less). (Some riders insist on riding without a leash, they argue that in the event of the safety system failure they will be attached to the kite and may themselves be injured).
