Extractions: A mountainboard is a kind of skateboard on steroids. The decks are big, the wheels are rubber, and your feet fit into bindings. When we mountainboard in Southern California, we notice that our boards ride differently when the tire pressure is higher or lower. Sometimes the wrong pressure makes us feel out of control. Our question: Which tire pressure will let us maintain speed and control through turns? The lowest tire pressure gave us our slowest times, but good control. The medium pressure allowed the board to go faster, but we felt we had less control. To our surprise, the highest pressure did not give us our fastest run, probably because we felt completely out of control. It was obvious that tire pressure really does make a difference, and that you have to choose the pressure that matches the kind of ride you want to have.
MountainBoarding On Hiker Central Mountain boarding is essentially very good fun. The sport itself can be completley safe and controlled or very dangerous, depending where you do it and how http://www.hikercentral.com/mountainboarding/
Extractions: The mountain board works much like a snowboard. Unlike a snowboard, it has wheels and hurts alot more when you fall. You turn by shifting your weight to either side of the board. Always remember to keep your balance and not to turn to far. Jumping is a little more difficult than turning. If you have a leash pull up on it and do small wheelies. This will also help on bumpy courses. Once you get this down you can try to jump. When you pull up on the leash also pull up your leg to lift the back. While in the air straighten yourself out so your level with the ground. When you land keep your knees bent so you won't break your leg. Mountain Boarding Mountain boarding is essentially very good fun. The sport itself can be completley safe and controlled or very dangerous, depending where you do it and how good you are!If you've ever snowboarded or skated before you should have no problems getting to grips with it, but just remember to take you time while learning the basics, to stop any bad habits developing. Extractions: What is mountainboarding? Mountainboarding is one of the nation's fastest growing extreme sports. It combines the carving and freestyle aspects of snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing with the trail and mountain riding aspects of mountainbiking and BMX. What is a mountainboard? A mountainboard is part skateboard, part snowboard and part bicycle. Most mountainboards include a rugged deck, adjustable steering system, air filled tires and some sort of foot strap system. Is mountainboarding hard to learn? Mountainboarding is quite easy to learn for anyone with generally good balance. In fact it is much easier to learn than snowboarding. Within one hour most people can learn how to carve in both directions and in total control. What additional gear do I need? We recommend wearing it all. Helmet, elbow pads, wrist guards, leather gloves, long pants, knee pads, sturdy shoes, eye protection. The safer you feel the better you will ride and when you do take the eventual tumble you'll get right back up and ready to ride again. How old do you need to be to learn how to mountainboard?
Extractions: M ountainboarding combines surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, and mountain biking to make every slope a playground, every hillock a jungle gym of possibilities. Developed by garage engineers, the first mountainboard experiments combined short snowboards, with skateboard trucks and lawnmower wheels for that knobby off-road feel. Since then, the boards have become smaller, the wheels bigger, and the suspension systems more advanced. See for yourself... The Story The Photos The Animations The Videos ... Riding a Mountainboard Looking for a wild way to get an adrenaline rush this summer? With a mountainboard , you can get that same rush of extreme sports no matter what the terrain or weather. sponsored link The Mongoose Varmint Mountainboards are a combination of a snowboard and a mountain bike. It's a board with bindings that has tires and a suspension on the bottom. The tires and suspension are really what make mountainboards so cool. They can be used anywhere - paved streets, dirt roads, sand dunes, grassy ski slopes or rocky terrain. You can even use mountainboards on a BMX track or in a skatepark . The possibilities are endless but freeways and through the mall aren't recommended (those fat, slobby mall security guys are always lookin' to bust someone.) If you're just starting out on a mountainboard , you should definitely wear all the proper safety gear (it's much more painful wiping out on rocks or dirt than it is on snow) and get a board that comes with a braking system . For minimum injury and maximum fun , it's recommended you wear a helmet , knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, gloves and a pair of sneakers with strong ankle support. For your first few rides, it's also a good idea to
